Definitely a car you control with your feet. 4th gear poke was lacking compared to the mini. Heroic driving just to keep that on the track!

Absolutely brilliant driving, the only place where you appeared (to this untrained eye) to lose out is in the start / finish straight as you shifted in to top, almost as though the engine bogged down a bit or the gearing was slightly too long. I’d be fascinated to learn what the real reason was from those who know about these things. :)

Thanks for the kind words. It had a bent valve in this race from a spinning valve seat holding it open slightly so very down on power! And yes the ratios in this gearbox were strange, 2nd and 3rd very close, 3rd to 4th was a big jump so it would almost fall off cam. I now have a dog box with much better ratios evenly spaced.
