Absolutely loving these gentle videos. Off on my own first solo boat journey next week, and this is getting me in the mood.

I have to say, boat sounds over music any day. Even if they're 2x speed. I love the canals and their serenity, obtusely, boat sounds do that for me, not synth. I did, however, love your videos! Thanks heaps. 🙂
@NarrowboatJourneys5 жыл бұрын
The video is double speed, the sound is normal speed - so it's not in sync with the video, but it was the sound recorded on that trip. Impossible to please everyone so I do a mixture.

@@NarrowboatJourneys You raise a good point. Your videos are always enjoyable regardless of audio preference! 🙂 Keep up the good work, thanks for the videos.

Have you seen my other channel? Just real time cruising and engine sound. kzbin.info/door/I8p6Ai5hm_HSmXLXjmpNYw

Narrowboat Journeys You keep it up guy . The double speed video is so much easier to watch . Yes I love to hear the sound of the engine and nature the trouble is there are lots of places where your microphone will not pick it up so it just becomes an engine background noise. And after 16 yrs in the engine room of subs a change of noise is good. Keep it up guy ,treats for your companions.

Very nostalgic, I grew up to the left of the cut, bridge 69 on The Kent was a humpback in those days, strong recollections at the age of 11 late winter of '63 the canal frozen over, someone had hacked a 2 foot deep hole in the ice, hadn't thought of that in years.
@NarrowboatJourneys5 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I've seen the ice up to about 6 inches thick before. You could quite safely jump around on it!

I subscribe to several channels but I always choose yours over others (this morning there are 5 new postings) to watch when I'm having breakie. Thank you.

Thank you. I have several more videos ready to be published. But If I do that too soon they don't get as many views. Perhaps a breakfast cereal company would like to sponsor me?! ;-)

Another lovely relaxing video, I heartily agree with the comment by Am.Blades. Such a shame that the North Oxford is to be marred by a huge housing development, I guess the new bridge is being put in place to handle the massive influx of traffic to and from said estate. The pessimist in me says be prepared for lots of crap being dumped into the cut in future years. I have been disgusted, though not surprised, at the state of the canals in many urban areas, not to mention the anti social behaviour of the local scumbags. All of which, I hasten to add, I've only experienced vicariously through watching Jo and Michaels videos. Really enjoy all your videos, the mix of quiet ambient sounds and your unique music is very calming. Thank you.

I know that stretch of the canal like the back of my hand my boat is moored near clifton cruisers you probably passed it on your way though love the vids

Thank you. It's such a shame about all the building work around there.

Yes the area between the bottom of Hillmorton locks to rugby visitor moorings has seen alot of development going on in the last few years

Another great video. How is your boat doing on this long voyage? I enjoy seeing a portion of the bow in the shot while the boat is cruising, gives more of a sense of being there in my opinion. Cheers.
@NarrowboatJourneys5 жыл бұрын
It depends which camera I use. The time-lapse camera has a very wide angle lens and can see the bow fender. The dashcam can't see it, even though it is mounted lower down. I mostly use the dashcam these days.
@NarrowboatJourneys5 жыл бұрын
I've managed to Photoshop a convincing photo of my bow fender into the video from the dashcam. It will be a while before you see it as lots of videos will come before that one.

Hi phill It will with time, a lot oft he others get lots of views because they all plug each other and meet up and make videos of the meeting and that gets them known on all the other channels as well.

Yes that's very true. It's a pity I'm quite shy and introverted about that sort of thing.
