Cost of living is expensive in Sweden and the winters are very long and still cold despite global warming and very little light for 6 months of the year!! My advice would be to think twice before moving there.

Try Southern Sweden pay more for a house but you save on heating oil.

Okey.. its this that are a lot of cheap houses to buy in sweden.. especialy in areas that not even swedes like to live in anymore! Moste of them is summer cottages for city dwellers or heretige propertys to use at summer vacation! And there is always a price to pay if one buy those property.. in the middle of nowhere!

The timber price is over 100eur/m3 and still rising, as the firewood. I bet that warming or energy cost in a old house will be over the cost of purchase the house in 10 years, in modern houses there is 10 inches of insulation and to isolate a old house can start problems with house mushroom or mold. air to air pump is good but works mainly for 1 room. The alternative is ground heating, which costs~12000EUR. Still the enery cost is high for heat pumps, pumps, water heating and transportation to foodstores, doctors or work is very high. Internet could be a concern. Many workers in the north lays about 1500 eur/month on driving to work. But if you love skiing and hunting and fishing, it could be worth living there.

I think now days you have to install a new kind of aflop. And it cost a lot of money. I am looking for just a remote cheap peace of land where you can have a little barn or a chet where you could park your camper van. So you can go there when you had too much people arround you. I am buying a little building in Trathult, Hogsby commun.

You dont understand how the life is upthere in the winter.. Like 6 months of darkness, snow and extremly cold. In The summer can be nice but its short and so much mosquites. Dont be so naive. You woudnt survive it for sure

You just don't make cut in the walls without consulting a structural engineer. In the worst case scenario the building can collapse when you're inside it, because some of the structural part of the building got destroyed when you made the cut in the wall.

How about make a video on something productive instead of promoting to people with more money than sense about all this. All of a sudden prices sky rocket and rich people have multiple properties to rent out. There’s people out here with good reason to want to get away from all that and live a better life, not compete with what they’re trying to get away from. All so you can make a name for yourself
