I have bought so much gear from HPG and I couldn't be happier with the quality and design and the fact that they listen to their customers and upgrade their line. I own all sizes of kit bags that I have customized for different uses, 2 Tarahumara also with 2 different setups and I just bought the Connor. I was really torn between the Connor and the Umlindi for my winter daily commute pack.

John K exactly. It was a weird in between size that made is seem great but not quite enough.

I agree. I still have the original version and use it as my regular daypack, but v2 solves every issue I have with my current pack. Unfortunately I always have so much gear on my future-buy list that it's hard to justify buying a second version of a pack I already have.

Love my v1... I use it as a back pocket. Going to get the v2 as an EDC. HPG is my favorite pack maker. Great job, lads.

Lots of Hill People Gear products getting updates lately. Really hope to see an Umlindi v2 soon. Not sure what they could even improve on that backpack but I’m sure the Hill brothers have some tricks up their sleeves. Keep up the good work guys. Love your products!

The Umlindi is a great pack. I'd like a dual-stay framesheet but other than that, I can't think of an improvement.

Need Multicam option, and I’d pull the trigger. Would like (all) Ranger Green or (all) Coyote Brown or (all) Khaki Tan as well. Not really keen in two-tone. But fantastic pack, which is to be expected from a fantastic company!

Had the first version and sold it cause of the straps width on the wings glad they are 1 inch now...MAN do I WISH you guys had made those bottom of the pack straps 1 inch as well!! Only thing keeping me on the fence on this.
@MichaelAbramo2 жыл бұрын
The wings are a very cool touch. It's difficult to decide between this and the Umlindi. I like that this pack has two outer mesh pockets and a front, center zip. But I prefer the bucket style of the Umlindi. A hybrid of the two might be the perfect pack for me.
@HillPeopleGear2 жыл бұрын
They're pretty different packs - I use the Connor as a light day pack, and a belted Umlindi as my heavy day pack.

We do multicam black on a limited run basis from time to time. We've made the Connor V2 in MCB for example. To get on the notification list for a particular product in MCB, email us at info@hillpeoplegear.com.

Darn... I'm female, 5'6" with a 17" torso only going on short urban hikes (NYC) - 1-3-5 hrs and need back support. I got the butt pack with the Prairie belt. Very comfortable (in my apartment). Won't be carrying more than 5 to 10 lbs. I would love a backpack and worry Junction and Tara lack the back support (I am staring at them now.) The foam just might not be robust enough and without a belt, not sure it's right for me...same goes for Tara. I really wanted an Umlindi but it's too big for my short treks and the Connor too long in the body. Interesting to hear you say the Connor has a better chassis. What makes it better. If you were me, what would you have chosen? Hmmmmm.
@catrest35068 күн бұрын
I know this is an old comment, but in case you are still looking for a good daypack, I’m also female, 5’5”, same torso length, and I love the Connor. I’ve never felt like it was too long for me. I had the V1 for years and just bought the V2 last year. Love them both, though I’ve now converted my V1 to a pocket.

How’s that mesh hold up to hard use?
@HillPeopleGear9 ай бұрын
Outstanding question, as I used it with some hesitation. This particular mesh is quite robust from a strength standpoint. As far as snagging and getting abraided that way, it has proven over time to be quite resilient. I still wouldn't have used it (and the tweave underneath it) if it wasn't mostly covered by the hypalon wings, which are quite a bit more robust than cordura.

Will this pack hold a SIG MPX Gen 2? Asking for a friend.

A friend tells us that it will hold an 11.5" AR pistol with a LAW folder on it. You should be able to extrapolate from there.

I’m debating getting this or the umlindi. I need a good pack for day hunts as well as a good bag for jiu jitsu once we are allowed back to train. I’d probably use it as an edc get home bag as well. Looking for the right pack to be able to do all these and this looks like it could. I get sentimental about my gear and like stuff I can use daily as well. Can this bag hold a long rifle on the outside very well anywhere?
