This presentation helped me to truly understand block diagrams- an issue I was struggling to grasp in my System Dynamics class. Thanks!

Thank you very much for sharing this video. You are a great teacher. I have much better understanding of the control system block diagram .

@Rick Hill In the cruise control example, what will happen if the error signal is zero? The output velocity V(s) should also become zero since V(s)=(K/ms+b)*E(s) neglecting disturbances, which means that the vehicle is in standstill and motor stop working!!!!

Y(s)/D(s)= forward/( 1 - loop ) right? 46:35
@hillrickc4 жыл бұрын
It's not because even though the feedback signal entering the summing junction at the D input is positive, it is still subtracted at the summing junction where the R input enters. I try to step through the logic on the next slide if you keep watching.

@@hillrickc I was just wondering the same

I have one question. What if i want to get E(s)/D(s) instead?? I found the loop disappeared.

Sir, Please reduce the humming noise. after a certain limit it totally creates headache. Please do the needful.

At the 47min, the multiple inputs part: should the Gs be changed to -Gs when we treat the R=0

+Binbin Cui sorry, I get it. The positive feedback will cancel the -1.

what book do u use again?
@hillrickc10 жыл бұрын
I use a variety of sources, but the book that most closely follows my lectures is System Dynamics by Ogata.

Can yo do more examples on Fluid Systems and Mechanical systems models? I love your lectures by the way. Thank you very much!

Rick Hill I think Conrol System Enginners byNise is also very simillar
@hillrickc10 жыл бұрын
I agree. Nise is a very nice book, but it is a bit more focused on control design than these lectures ... here the focus is a bit more on the modeling.

i understand. I am an eee, not control engr. so my main concern is first, second order systems i guess. However i get stuck on an example. Can i take your e-mail?
