i believe it's the number of the chords in the family chords. example. this song is key of B. Family Chords of B are: I(1)- B II(2)- C#m III(3)- Ebm IV(4)- E V(5)- F# VI(6)- G#m VII(7)- E/Bb VIII(8) - octave B that's it. :)

I think if we're talking about talented guitarists it's safe to leave Lincoln Brewster out of the conversation. His stuff is good if you need work on scales, but that's all I've really found it good for teaching wise. If you like tons of scales (Lincoln Brewster) but also like melodies (Hillsong) try playing some Michael Angelo Batio or Brian Carroll. You'll see your abilities skyrocket after mastering just a few songs from each.

D#m instead of Ebm no flats in a key with sharps. Same with Bb, it's actually A#. They sound the same but they are not the same :)

I am still unable to play the chorus part at 0:41 up to the speed and do it constantly through the whole chorus part. Anybody has advice how to improve?
@maraviyoso847310 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's not "complicated" stuff, but would you think an Yngwie Malmsteem solo would fit anywhere in this song? I bet 95% of the shredders would sound like crap if they try to play this song.

What's most important in music is what sounds best. You can know how to sweep an arpeggio in 32nd notes at 200 bpm's but it's not going to do you any good if you can't write good music.

C#m > E > B > F#

Just bar the highest four strings with your index finger on the 9th I believe, then add your pinky on your B and high e for the second chord, then add your ring finger on the g-string down one fret from your pinky for the third chord, and the last is just a power chord in the same placement

It's called being tasteful and simple, Just because someone isn't steve vai doesn't mean they aren't talented guitar players, it's just a different taste. Learn to be more open minded.
