Congrats on your purchase. I'm not surprised you love the car. It's truly a work of art.

@@carfanfan thank you. Thing is when I test drove the car, it was absolutely fine. However the next day, I had the low coolant level message on the dash board. Engine got so hot after a very short drive, so I did some reading, which shows it to be a common problem. I found a huge pool of coolant liquid under the car. I thought the pipe or tank was punctured. I also then got the message of low key battery, and then saw the red battery signal on dashboard. All of these within less than 24 hours put me off. So I contacted my dealer who came to take the car for a full check. Turns out that the problem is the thermostat heating which they are currently gonna replace ( they are waiting on parts) he agreed to change car batteries too. I got put off by all these although the car looks very loved by previous owner, body and interior is pristine at its age. Do you think I should be worried because of these early signs or I should be ok once all the visible ‘ red flags ‘ I discovered gets resolved ?. The car is at 103000 miles by the way. Thanks for your time in answering.

@@howeydon They are great cars and no matter what issues yours may have, it could have been worse had you bought a BMW, Audi or Mercedes. I've had Audis before and they were way more problematic. This XFR has given me no mechanical issues in the year I've had it and just keeps going. I did a 300 mile trip on the weekend and it performed beautifully. The secret is maintenance. When something breaks, fix it then. Don't wait because one small issue can cause a number if others if not fixed. Then it becomes overwhelming to fix. Older cars will all require maintenance as they grow older and I find that Jaguars just last longer. Especially the one's designed by Ford. 😉
@carfanfan3 жыл бұрын
@@howeydon I wouldn't be concerned about these problems. The thermostat issue is probably because if the mileage and age and was due for replacement. The key fob batteries are easy to change. Just keep some 2032 batteries in your fridge. If it fails, just change it. No need for reprogramming as it doesn't lose its programming. It will work fine again. Personally, I would have changed the water pump too as if the thermostat failed, the water pump won't be far behind. I had a few coolant issues on my first XF, water pump first, then some coolant hoses leading to the tank, then the tank. But my guess is when they changed the water pump, they removed the hoses and tank and damaged both during that job Not the car's fault, technician incompetence. At 100k miles, if the water pump hasn't been changed, it's about to fail 😉

Hi Hilton. Really impressed with the vinyl wrap. I have just acquired a really nice Italian Firenze Red EX, the 25T AWD R Sport model. The previous owner who only had the car 6 months changed the wheels for a set of black diamond cut ones with new Pirelli tyres. He changed the brushed chrome side badges for black ones and also the wing mirror covers from red to black. He gave me all the old fittings. I have now painted the callipers and got some white Jaguar lettering to stick on them. They look amazing. I still have my white 3litre XF although I will have to part with it soon as I can't really justify running both cars.

Hahahaha yeah...totally....some of the stuff he does makes me 🤯🤯....to be fair he takes his time and is calm....Part of the reason I don’t try some of the more ‘technical’ mods is that I know I, more often than not, would screw things up something proper 🤦♂️😂

Chrome delete looks great against the white. Great job 👏

Looks even better with black wheels. If you have silver alloys the chrome matches, but a white XF with black wheels looks a lot better when you de-chrome it.

That looks great! I tried this myself a few months ago, but I wasn't happy with the results so I sprayed them gloss black instead!

Really helpful, this is on my list of jobs for my car. Really want to see the window trim deletes, as the chrome surrounds really don't work me on a dark coloured car.
@carfanfan3 жыл бұрын
The window deletes will be next Friday's video. It was a 3 day job for me, so not for the light hearted. You need patience and lots of vinyl for mistakes. It was my first time so it took 6 hours to do just the rear doors, but for a novice it would probably go quicker 😉

Hey Hilton, I would've kept it the same. I'll check it out, to see if I like it better. Thanks.

Hey Debbs. I think it depends on the color of the car. The gloss black just looks so cool against the contrast of my white XFR and it truly looks aggressive now. I'm planning on deleting the chrome in the front bumper as well which means new grill 🤗😜

Hi Hilton, hope your feeling well again my friend. That looks lovely I was contemplating blacking some of the chrome on my jag so now I have no excuse lol , I’ve just had my wheels redone in the original silver but kinda wishing I’d done them black it makes the car look meaner I think ! So I’ll put that one on the list of things to do . I’ve also had the very few paint blemishes sorted so Rosie ( it’s what I call the car ) is looking beautiful again .perhaps Nice job brother great video thanks 👍

I hear you my friend. I'm really happy with my black wheels. Once my grill is done in gloss black as well and the two bottom grills it will all tie in really nicely. An XF just looks so mean with black wheels. The design lends itself to a coupe and it brings out the car's sporty nature. 😉

I love your videos - one comment, though - all of the stuff you've wrapped (except the window trim) is a LOT easier to wrap well by removing them from your car. These side vents are easy to unclip by removing the plastic wheel arches (and some of the foam padding and washer reservoir).
@user-rc2ko6vi2w3 жыл бұрын
I think it would look better if the Jaguar lettering was somehow done in red (maybe another bit of vinyl overtop?). Would compliment your wheels and calipers well.
@carfanfan3 жыл бұрын
I hear you. Problem is I don't have red anywhere else so it could look out of place. I'm going for gloss black and white 😜. Once the front grill is done it's all going to look really mean and understated in a classy way 😉
