When someone teaches in such a way, it generates interest in learning. Unfortunately, such teachers are rare, and those who exist often lack the support they need from people. Thank you very much, sir, for making a difference. Please continue doing so.

Very simple and comprehensive way of explaining. Best diagram of himalayas folding and thrusting.it will be more good if you mention and write on diagram the timing of Std, Mct ,mbt. Thanks
@zetaupsc Жыл бұрын
Thanks dear, the problem with writing timing is that different sources have different ranges of date and if you see they can have a difference of as much as 10 to 20 M years. I really insist that people should adhere to dates given in there reference books. if you prepare for UPSC then follow ncert dates, if in geography studies then follow those dates. I would try to include approximate dates in futur tough. Keep watching and sharing

Sir, how was Indian plate moving towards Eurasian plate, I mean there was Tethyan plate in between. Most explanations show as if Indian plate was floating over water and moving but there must be interaction between the Tethyan plate and Indian plate and since Tethyan plate is oceanic plate it must be subducting below Indian plate, is it so? please explain
@zetaupsc29 күн бұрын
@@dj86134 the Indian plate included tethyian oceanic plate, so it was one plate(not going into geologic derails) just like now the whole bay of bengal, Arabian sea and parts of Indian Ocean are part of Indian plate. A single plate can have oceanic and continental part so tethyian plate did not subduct under Indian plate because it was one plate. The Indian plate moved north because of sea floor spreading at Indian Ocean mid oceanic ridge which is discussed in other video

The explanations on how the Himalaya form are completely wrong. Please read more modern literature. (e. g. Boyer and Elliott, 1983 and later).
@zetaupsc5 ай бұрын
😀😀😀they are not wrong they are based on ncerts for upsc. If u are specialising in geology then this video is not for you. I know morden theories and complex process but this is for upsc only
@malaymukul85134 ай бұрын
@@zetaupsc The Himalaya are not fold mountains. They are fold-thrust belts. They definitely do not show the kind of symmetric upright folds your video shows.
@zetaupsc4 ай бұрын
@@malaymukul8513 kindly read ncerts it'l clearly says Himalayas are fold mountains and this is not a real world physics simulation this is overly simplified animation to show formation of Himalayas based on ncerts, kindly refer to ncert for detailed description ncert.nic.in/textbook/pdf/iess102.pdf

Fold and block mountains are 1970s concepts. Guess NCERT texts are stuck there. In this day and age, there are so many videos on Himalaya that are more modern and realistic on KZbin. Please watch them and teach students something more contemporary. I am a teacher and typically have to make students unlearn a lot of dated concepts before teaching them contemporary concepts on mountain building.

@@malaymukul8513 I will teach them what helps them get marks in civil services exam, as long as it is in ncerts, i will teach it. And that is what is said in the beginning that this channel is dedicated for UPSC preparations only,
