Likden, a guide in the valley and a computer science graduate, is busy preparing for his upcoming wedding, which will last four days, with more than 600 guests.
The Nyopa, spiritual guides of the community, must go and find the bride from her family, the occasion of a journey which also lasts several days. Like Likden, many young people of his age, attached to their region of origin, try to maintain a balance between tradition and modernity.

Actually they are related to Tibetan but mixed with north indians sometimes. Specially ladakhi muslims have huge west Eurasian DNA from neighbouring ethnic groups like kashmiri or other north indians.

I mean they are related to Tibetan but you should call them Ladakhi. They are Ladakhi and Indians. There could similarities but not same as Tibetans.

this is our ladakhi cultural marriage and religion has nothing to do with our marriages ceremonies. our ladakhi marriages are all somewhat same ( whether its of muslim, buddhist, or christians). if you guys are trying to follow the conventional european christians marriage ceremonies, then you may lose your traditional ways.

Well it's common in Asian countries. Asian weddings are hectic and long which makes groom and bride little tired and another reason is she left her home and village and now going to live with whole new people which is not easy for a women. She may be missing her home.
