I'm ex RAF air traffic and Sqn Ops. I knew a guy who had a version of Top Gun which lasted some 27 minutes long, he edited out all the non flying parts. He was a RAF F4 navigator, Chris "CJ" Weightman. He and his pilot Ian "Mongo" Holden will forever be on Ops and Patrol over the Falkland Islands. When ever I hear this or watch both movies, I raise a glass to CJ. To CJ and Mongo both good men. FIERY CROSS TWO MINUTES FIERY CROSS TWO MINUTES!

In fact, there are two official versions of the song "Danger Zone" from the beginning, one is the audio tape/CD version, and the other is the TOP GUN 1 movie version. The original theme song of the movie version has not been released to the public, which is a pity. You can refer to this. The first part before 1:27 seconds is the theme song of the movie version, and the second part is added by enthusiastic netizens. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oai9oGCtbtica6c

This film was before Gulf War. In 80s Americans rivalries/commies assumed Americans were still as inept as in Vietnam War. This film showed a clue that the US military has been much more advanced than Soviet/commie force. Gulf War was the US dealing the Iraqis from a "higher dimension/tech generation". I am ethnic Chinese, was a kid in Hong Kong then. Beijing/PLA, who was still complacent of Korean War result, was completely SHOCKED of destruction of Iraqis (using a lot Chinese weapon) in Gulf War.

There will never be another fighter like the F-14. The sheer size, the wide engines and the swing wing design gave it such an instantly recognizable and iconic look. For an awful lot of people, if you ask them to imagine a fighter plane, that's what you get. Plus, for those who aren't in to this sort of thing, the F-14 was used in other iconic media. It's shape and style was the basis for an awesome lot of fighters in anime, like the Variable Fighters from Macross and some of the Transformers When I was a young kid in the early 80's, I had a toy Variable Fighter and that thing was amazing lol

I used to do cinema service, and on the original release of Top Gun in 70mm film, one theatre I serviced had an incredible sound system. After doing my tune up for this film, the projectionist asked me to start the show. When this came on, the opening kick drums literally hit you in the chest. Two surfer dudes next to me went "Dude, that's sick." When the jets lit the afterburners, it was so loud and violent that the bass knocked some ceiling tiles down in the manager's office. BTW I had the volume set at the normal Dolby reference fader "7" ,, which is how films are supposed to be played back. But I had to turn it down to 5.5 here. Still had lots of punch though.

But he always gets the girl just like severide from Chicago fire. I would see it again. I don't mind. He was good in this and Val kilmer dealing with throat cancer and died in the movie. The look on his face when he saw Val. That was very intense. Tom Cruise is a great actor. The last movie I saw was in December when west side story came out that was better than the first one some of the scenes were done around NY. The girl who played Anita won the academy award.

I saw the aircraft pieces remaining in Ha Noi and museum in Halong Bay in Northern Vietnam. Top Gun is a great way to give the naval aviators the tools to defeat the enemy. May it continue to provide excellence to the US Navy and USMC at both Ocean shores

Excellent second version!!! It make me remember my best friend Juanjo, who dies as instructor pilot in US and watch the original film 14 inspirationally times. I 'm sure he is watching this great version from the sky, very very happy for!! ♥️

Al escuchar esta intro, a veces incluso, por un instante, logro vivir la misma sensación que tuve la primera vez sentado en el cine con 15 años... Gran película, y gran década los 80's
