The six flames bear the symbols of each tribe, which were already shown in the first natlan teaser with the first three saurians. However, the tribe symbols are slightly different from the saurian symbols, but still share the key shape.

@Keiki-kun what I've noticed with expies is that even if their designs aren't 1 to 1 they still share some characteristic with whom they're based on. Venti and Wendy both seek freedom. Adam and Zhong Li both have money problems. Ei and Mei were both traumatized by the sacrifice of a loved one. Nahida and Theresa are both maternal figures despite their appearance. Seele and Furina both have two souls sharing one body. I'm gonna take a guess and say what Mauv will share with Himeko is to serve as a mentor for the protagonist.

@@MJAY552 This is practically guaranteed to be the case because the archons have a duality theme (except Zhongli apparently) Venti had the bard, Ei had her sister, Nahida had her other incarnation, Furina had her other half and the fact that the previous archon is called Murata basically confirms her as an expy, no matter what excuse the antis give watch she also end up using a Claymore

Natlan looks amazing, oh my god. I'm so excited for the probable absolute rollercoaster Hoyo has in store for us! The fire ring I think are the symbols of the tribes of Natlan. Also seeing how this chapter in the Prelude trailer is called Ode to Resurrection, perhaps she's planning to resurrect the actual Pyro Archon, cause I'm not 100% sure she even is the Archon and I think the Archon is supposed to be Murata? Unless that's her real name like how Venti is Barbatos and so on. Or maybe she's trying to resurrect the Pyro Sovereign?

Mavuika can be a Murata decendant (like Vanessa) but Genshin Himeko is probobly already dead. Or all of the Murata died (hence lore about remnants of them leaving and traveling or being taking as slaves) and Mavuika is the First Pyro Archon. Or both as its GI. Whats interesting Mavuika is a Dark Garuda and Pheonix (like Fu Hua) so she potentially Reincarnated already to this state.

Looking through the comments on this video, it seems your viewers are more perceptive than a lot of other Genshin CC's audiences, because most of what I want to say is mentioned in some way already.. Still, I'd like to add my own big theory into the mix here, starting with the big question people ask during the video - "Who is she (the archon, Mavuika) talking to, is it us?" I think she's speaking directly to Xbalanque, aka the Pyro Dragon Sovereign. In fact, I believe I've got the main plot of Natlan actually figured out, tbh. Here goes.. Mavuika says, in short, "What we see ought to be our fate, but for now close your eyes and feel.. for with our blood we will forge our fate" while she's shown facing six flames, each flame with the symbol of one of the Tribes of Natlan in them. The significance of what she says about "blood" and "fate" is related to the ball that they pass around in the trailer; as in ancient Aztec culture they would hold *ritual warfare* in the form of a sport similar to modern basketball, and the losing tribe's team would be executed and their blood sacrificed to the deities.. Now keep in mind that in the Tevat Chapter Storyline trailer, Natlan's chapter is called "Incandescent Ode of Resurrection"; Incandescent meaning 'Bright Flames/Heat' & Ode meaning 'the story of'. Also, in Neuvellette's description of Xbalanque they are referred to as "One Entombed With the Primal (Primordial) Fire" and in that same dark room where the six Tribe flames are there is a *single, huge flame* with six different symbols circling it, which if you look closely are the symbols of the six Vishap/Dragon breeds in Natlan! Now I won't go deep into the real world lore of Xbalanque but the tldr is that they are a hero from Mayan myth who helped defeat the Gods of the Underworld.. see where I'm going yet? I think Mavuika is holding the Tournament as a Wargame centered around the ball sport in order to gather the blood (or whatever similar sacrifice medium is needed) of strong warriors and use it to bring Xbalanque fully back to life. I believe that the Fatui have knowledge of ways to revive the dead to some degree based on what we've seen, so they send Capitano as he is their strongest and thus can contribute the most to the sacrifice method as he's so good at combat, and also as a show of good faith to ensure Mavuika hands over the Gnosis after the Sovereign is resurrected. As to why the Archon wants to revive the Sovereign though I can't say, especially since we know NOTHING about her or her past that we could use to gauge her motives, sadly

At first glance i'm a bit disappointed, because everything we knew so far about Natlan was "The Nation of WAR" and my thoughts where like they were in some kind of conflict with Snezhnaya or generally with the other nations but now we get only that once a year they are doing some kind of Mortal Kombat.... and we don't know if this tournament is even a fighting tournament. The only thing that got me hyped was the end when Mavuika talked to that pyro ring spirit. Is that spirit the previous archon maybe and that tournament serves to collect energy (sparks) from the contestants to revive him? I'm not really sure if Mavuika even is the pyro Archon right now or she just took the place until the real one revives, because if you compare the clothes from other archons, they somehow match the clothing from the nation but her clothes are like she came from the future. So maybe is this the first time we will encounter a cross-over character in genshin? Is she Himeko trying to fulfill some kind of mission? We know lorewise that there were 2 pyro archons thats why i'm thinking the revive theory could be a thing.

I'm really disappointed in Natlan and the continued disrespect shown to the cultures that Hoyo claims to be respecting and pulling from. If you're going to use names and fashion and mythology pulled directly from real life cultures, then not making any of those characters actually represent the PEOPLE who created it is nasty and just using them for profit. It's clear the writers care for the cultures they pull from, there's often so much detail in the lore and i love reading up on the influences they used. But whoever is in charge of character design is straight-up colorist. The fact we've only seen enemies with dark skin and black hairstyles is awful. The fact they named a guy after a Yoruba god and he's pale af is awful. The fact the Archon is named after a Maori fire god but looks nothing like she's from that culture is awful. What's disappointing is the opportunity for diversity and variety in the designs, but we keep getting more of the same. Based on all the naming and influences for every Natlan character none of them should be so pale. They've got african names, south and central american names, and the names of pacific islanders. It's not acceptable in 2024. And not when other gacha games coming out of China like Dislyte can do POC characters. Super disappointed and even if it makes no difference, i can't pull for the cast. Hoyo needs to know they can't keep whitewashing culture if they want to use it to make money.

The real question we have to ask is how does war happen like a "undying flame" as Neuv describes it. In real life it doesn't work like that as populations resources are expended. My guess is the light-hearted seeming tourney is designed with real consequences that allows the flame to burn forever.

Idk, they all looks so not-Genshin-stile. If you told me what Archon just some racer from HSR I would trust. Let's be honest, Genshin setting sucks. It is too limited by the framework of the Middle Ages, while ZZZ and HSR can push anything and it will look organic. Boy with pixelated 2D monster and tight modern suit on the archon only shows that they are worn out. Remember Final Feast and look at this... The characters shown, the atmosphere of mystery, while here we have a hodgepodge of colors and a filler tournament arch.
