Just saying that those brushes are for their acrylics! They have their own brushes for gouaches which has white and soft bristles. You're really talented tho!

Do you know where I can find the gouache brushes? I've been trying to find them and been unsuccessful. I LOVE the 3 brushes that came with the himi 24 gouache set but I have no idea what hair type they are and where to find them in more sizes :(

It was awesome when you used the dark blue mixed with other colors for the shadow and the fact that you have a high understanding with the lighting made this painting feel really natural, also the colors complemented each other very well............. another 10/10 for me

if you don't want the paints to dry out, just spray them with a bit of water every so often while you've got the lid of the box off and they'll stay wet - I've had mine for about 7 months now (took the whole lid off each of the cups) and this has kept them wet!

@@rheanadelrosario7375 no, occasionally it can get a little chunky but if u make sure to keep it wet its fine. I have had my set for like a year and its still pretty good.

You can rewet the paints. Just add water and stir the color and they are good as new. Just make sure your water is clean and maybe use distilled water depending on your tap water quality!

Opening the set slightly and doing a swatch on top is such a good idea!! I've been wondering how to avoid having them dry too quickly. I was going to put them in a ziplock but that would be so aesthetically unappealing and I personally know how long it takes to reactivate because i helped my sister with it 😣 That aside, love your art 🥰

Weird, I have the himi and I opened them completely - I've had them for months and they have not dried out at all. I keep the palette in there and make sure the lid is lined up when I close it. So far so good.

I have the mint green Himi gouache set... I didn't order the paintbrushes because it looked like they were too rough/stiff for gouache, and some other people who reviewed them noted the same as well. But since dabbling with my set, I think a stiffer brush MIGHT be preferred, especially if you are gonna use them at "full strength" (which I haven't really; been doing a "watercolor-ish" sort of method). I've been wanting to get the 24 color set, because it has a larger palette (naturally) and comes with some brushes and a place to keep them built in... when I do, I'll go ahead and copy what you did, how you opened and "color-displayed" what they are on the cover. As it's probably the best way to keep it moist longer without CONSTANT re-spraying as upkeep like I am now. You really inspire me to sketch more, so I can paint over it like you did, LOL! And I really love your use of color and shading in this piece.

Anything is hard on budget when it comes to gouache, student or not. It’s either you get decent quality or pure sludge nightmare. This is definitely the most pocket safe one out there.
