I have this Himiway and I Love it. I am 6'1, about 330lbs and I get 33 mph EZ and quick, My Wife has the full size Rad Step thru and I often have to ride on level 3 when she is riding on level 5 to avoid pulling to far away from her when we are trying to ride top speed. we ride 15 to 20 miles almost everyday and the only issues I have had is my breaks wearing and my bell stop working for some reason. Fortunately I am upgrading my breaks to hydraulic disc thanks to Bolton e bikes. I will say when I ride at top seed it drains my battery faster, even still I can get 15 to 20 miles with 2 bars remaining before I feel I need to take it home to charge. I received my bike on the 30th of this past January. its holding strong and counting.

@@Altema22 unfortunately I have never timed myself, but if I had to guess I would say around 10 seconds. The bike takes of very fast with a kick. also I know my weight is truly testing the breaks, they still work well, no problems stopping when I need to stop, I just find my self needing to readjust them every couple rides to remove the squeaking and looseness. I have already order my new breaks hoping they arrive in the next few days.

I purchased a step thru for my wife changed to 1-7 power selections and then dialed back the power percentages on settings 1 thru 4 to remove the lurching power you are noticing , also allowed the bike to go right at 5 mph on setting 1 when she wanted to go slowly I think setting one stock was around 10 mph or there about really tamed the bike down for her , She is only 5-2 and we wound up buying her a rad mini step thru and its a much better fit for her as the himiway way step thru is not really made for a person her size , its a huge bike , I am 6.2 and sometimes have a hard time getting my big foot thru the small stethru area i kept the himiway and love it , over 500 miles now and still going strong the way they come programmed stock is a bit scary especially for a first time rider though so I would defiantly recommend changing the percentages to power in those first lower settings , great reviews BTW

I've got 160 miles on mine. First the PAS went out(not a hard repair once you find the problem, but I hd to buy a crank puller. After that I took it uphill for 1 1/2 miles where it overheated and now it's dead in the water again( I think it's Hall sensors) . I didn't think I wanted to take the chance of it going down again and missing part of the part of the Summer. So I , bought a kit from Area 13 - Boulton Bikes(I felt like I needed someone to have selected the parts for me that might be more knowledgable about their dependability) to retro my old K2 mountain bike which I've just finished. The 1st ride was fine. We'll see how it goes. As a side note, I don't ride these bikes hard stopping often to walk in the woods. Will try to post again after the new bike passes 160 miles and again aftern I repair the Himiway which is probably going involve another puller that I don't have and definitely don't have the time now that Summer is here.

Torque sensor (none of that ‘kick’ described in video). Lifetime warranty on frame. Great customer service (it exists for a start). Is there a work around to activate the throttle when the setting is set to zero? HImiway says no. Ideas? Thoughts for a solution? Thank you. Wally

I'm curious about the gearing of the new 2021 model vs your step-through. I agree the power is great, but on my Himiway the 7th gear tops out too easily. go up 4 teeth that should do it. I'm not sure if they use standard chain rings but they shouldn't be very expensive, either way 4 teeth will make a noticeable difference and shouldn't hurt your low end gearing much.

I had no idea that this bike would go this fast. I think you could do a video on bike helmets for ebikes. I don’t think traditional bike helmets would provide the protection needed for a 30+ MPH fall.

Thanks for your reviews received my new Himiway step thru on Feb 10th 21 ordered it because of your positive reviews and price. I love this bike, so far I have 130 miles on it great power awesome easy programing I was going to order one for my wife glad I didn't it is too big for her so I am going to order her the escape step thru loved your reviews on that bike also. I am 66 years old 240 lbs and find it pretty easy to hit 30 mph I have had it to 32 mph. It is so easy to get on this bike and ride 20 or 30 miles the only reason I do not have more miles on it is because of bad weather I just feel like a kid again I have always loved riding bikes And this bike is just what I needed thanks. My wife has artificial hips and knees I like to walk but she has not been able to do that so I am hoping the escape will help build her stamina, but no matter what we will be able to go together even if she only uses the throttle.

That has to be the fastest bike you have tested. Would love to see throttle only test for top speed

It's not. Top speed claims are a scam.

hi Edgar, did you see the video link in the description? that one shows how to change all the settings? also, is your bike a 2020 or 2021?

So is it factual that the 2021 model Hemiway is more powerful than the 2020 step thru model.???? I'm curious...
@CitizenCycle9253 жыл бұрын
i messaged Himiway to ask and they said that the updated the motors on the 2021 models and they are in fact slightly more powerful now. my stepthru is a 2020.

Just purchased the bike. I think the price increase is across the board because of COVID-19 backlash. So, still think the bike is worth the price.

Mr. Citizen here's to your hobby and our entertainment. The Magic M word is on the horizon. Wondering if you made or could make 6 figs. only doing this...............will leave that open ended and keep your options private. Excellent review! Hydros from Bolton and done for now. I am saddened by Volt Bikes out of Canada. After OCD on steroids, I made our choice for 2 Yukon 750's. Forget about all the delays and deceit in shipping. A bike named 750 should be a 750W. Last year their website said nominal now it reads Peak. I found this out on an owners group FB page. I have to laugh at all the crap, I gave to RR. The Volt motor states 750W but it turns out to be a Bafang 500W. That nebulous game got me. You and Bolton's RR videos exposing this, was the reason I went Canadian/Chinese. The Hydros was a plus, until I stumble on the owners group and find there was a brake pad recall. Nothing official from the company. WTF, this is brakes!!!! There was a horrible, cooking, boiling, demonic sound when brakes applied. Sent an e-mail got 2 sets for 2 Yukon "500's" went to a local bike shop for install and got jacked 200 bux anyway that's another story. I went into settings using the code in the owners manual to bump up amps and unlimit the limiter. Code 1919 they provide in the owners manual. The bike tech gets on users page after all my bitching and claims I voided my warranty. Point being is no matter how hard I pedal in 7th gear on pedal assist 9 and/or throttle. I would go 19.9 mph, after the de-limit 23 throttle only and 25.5 mph. This is with all I got and for short bursts. and "pedaled out" I was always suspect of this 500 W betrayal, your reviews were showing bikes out of the box with TRUE 750's going way faster. I will be selling my Yukon 500 falsely claiming to be a 750 W. I will tell the buyer, it is a 500 W nominal and 750 Peak...................The nebulous cloud is a dirty game. I will purchase the Himi, do you have a "code" for a discount or at he very least tell 'em Citizen Cycle sent me? Ride ON!

@seriouskite sorry that the yukons didn't work out for you I've never seen one of those. There are lots of choices in the e-bike market right now just make sure you do some research and make sure you get the right one for you. I'm certainly no expert so I wouldn't base any purchases off me 🙂 As far as KZbin income, I would be shocked if I'm even breaking even right now. The amount I spend on eBike stuff and the time and energy I put in filming and editing and answering questions seems to far outweigh the tiny bit I get off of ad revenue. So I'm sure six figures is many years down the road if I even make it that long. 😁

I like the Himiway, but if you were just trying to go fast on your Rover, it has the wrong mods. It's not your fault; you were just installing what they sent you. The controller is ok, but the discharge current of the battery is too low, wires feeding the controller are too thin, and the rating of that motor in back is 38.78 kV, which at 58.8 volts will run at 2,280 rpm. Your Rad Rover is going the correct speed for that specific motor, and if you want more speed, just get the power system issues corrected and install a faster motor. Not trying to be harsh, so sorry if it sounds that way! Appreciate the content and looking forward to the next video!

I bought a Himi Cruiser for me and a Step-Thru for my girlfriend and can attest as to why everyone who has one of these calls it a beast! My girlfriend keeps hers speed limited to the factory set 22 mph, but I unlocked my Cruiser’s top speed and can easily get it up to 35 mph.

Dang could they get anymore ugly exposed wires/cables at the head of the bars? Had a rad my friend wiped out with same set up besides ugly and unnecessary it is a pain to fix.thks for the review I'll skip on this one. Plus all these big heavy rims and way to fat tires weigh how much compared to something much better for street. Ever catch the side of a fat tire on the side of a damp curb? Fat tires perform badly on street even worse than badly.

The Himiway Electric Cruiser is nice. However, the Customer Service at Himiway is terrible. Can never get a straight and honest answer from Himiway. Shipping and Delivery is NEVER on time or accurate. Let the Buyer Beware.
@sobebikes32253 жыл бұрын
Customer service for this company is totally nonexistent... Order 2x couple months back still haven't received the keys for one bike.. they moderate your message on Facebook group so if you see anything bad they delete your message. LOL! So started my own uncensored group yesterday but I think I need to redo it make it public instead of private.. but this bike is nice though. I'm starting to enjoy it even more than my Rad Rover. The power on this thing is totally awesome compared to my Rad bikes ( 33 miles per hour)..... but like you say , wish customer service would just give honest answers and be straight up with their customers.. I hope they get better. Just sucks I had to be a guinea pig in the process. LOL!🙏💯
