I've been riding a D5 ST for a couple of months now, and I absolutely LOVE this bike. I agree with pretty much everything you said about it, with the exception of the size and weight: I really like those aspects of it, as it provides amazing stability while riding. The fork is definitely an issue, though. Mine is already starting to fail in that the lower tubes are flexing back and forth inside the upper tubes, and when I'm braking, the front wheel judders back and forth. Kinda makes me worried the forks are going to fold in half at some point. If anyone could recommend a better fork for this bike, that's known to have all the appropriate mount points for the brakes and fender, etc, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for the great review...now I've got some riding to do... Edit to add: BTW, I changed out the rear freewheel for an 11-28T, and that 11 makes all the difference when pedaling in high gear...pretty much no ghost-pedaling anymore.

Thats great to hear! The weight of the bike sure does make it more stable and comfortable to ride, you are right. I am sorry to hear about the front fork, I did have some concerns about it given the size and weight of the bike. Let us know what fork you chose for the bike to replace it!

I'm not sure if you mention this in the video ... how tall are you... for size reference?

Good question! I am a little over 6' tall, and have a 32" inseam. I usually ride an L or XL frame size on most bikes
@90-minutebookvideo772 күн бұрын
@@BikeRidecom Thanks. I'm 5'8" so it helps to know how tall the bike reviewer is .. I'm interested in the step through. I felt the bike looked a bit small for you, but might be perfect for me.

How does this compare against the Vitilan T7?
@BikeRidecom6 ай бұрын
Off the batt, you are looking at a 1000W motor, full suspension bike, and 52V 20Ah battery on the Vitilan, vs. a 750W motor, hardtail, and 48V 20Ah on the Himiway D5. I have not had a chance to test a Vitilan, but given the price point and look of the brand I would think Himiway has a better build and track record, while the specs for the bike may not seem as good. Vitilan seems to be offering a lot for a little, and this is often the case when lower quality components are at play. I will need to get one of the Vilitan bikes into the studio to know for sure. Thanks for pointing them out!

the frame looks pretty small? in height?

The bike is fairly large, it was comfortable for me to ride at 6' tall. The standover height for the bike is 31.4" and it stands a little more then 3' tall at its highest point

Will this bike work for a guy that is 6’5”?
@BikeRidecom4 ай бұрын
You are right at the top of the height range so depending on your leg, torso and arm length it may or may not fit. Himiway claims up to 6'5" for height

Ride1up turris is the best ebike
@BikeRidecom4 ай бұрын
Looking at the comparison, this Himiway beats the Turris on many counts, including hill climbing, range, battery capacity, and motor power. But the Turris is definitely lighter and more similar to a conventional bike. I also like the tire size on the Turris more.
@polok8904 ай бұрын
@@BikeRidecom I have a turris and think its the best in ride1up's lineup. So soft and easy to ride, cadence sensor and throttle super soft and smooth, whisper quiet motor, balloon tires and suspension float down the road. Its just so soft and refined
@philo5096Ай бұрын
You keep calling it a big bike, yet it has 26 in tires. That's small.
@BikeRidecomАй бұрын
Many large e-bikes use 26" rims, which does not indicate the bike's overall size and weight. It's a large bike, with a wheelbase of 50" and an overall length of over 70". It's significant both in terms of dimensions and weight, coming in at just under 90 LB. (that's more then double the weight of a full suspension 29" MTB, which comes in at 38lb) The D5 dwarfs traditional bikes, and its 26" rims roll on 4" wide tires, which increase the size and weight far past traditional bike tires, even plus-size models.
