What tool did you use to open the Himiway casing ? Did you put some new grease in the casing for the newer motor?

Phillips head screwdriver. Used some white lithium grease which is the same used for the planetary gears.

Why would anyone want to swap the motor and replace all of the wiring? If one has a bad motor seems like it would be best to stick with a more exact replacement from the company to avoid having to rewire everything. It is a good video showing how it is done while keeping it short.

You don't have to rewire anything using this method. you could if you wanted or if the motor fried so you are not locked into the factory parts which limit the speed, etc of the bike.

@@AntiheroVHS in the video they point out that the connector is different between the two motors and they used a completely different system. While I think you are right when changing the connector being the same spec they both should work. This was not even hinted at.

The BaFang is a superior motor to the factory himiway, but it WILL require changing the controller and display.

i am about to do the same mod on my 750w fat tire. has a smaller magnet structure so less torque and top speed (cheaper). upgrading to this bafang motor gives a lot more torque and top end.

Can you use the bafang motor with the himiway battery? I have the himiway cobra with the 250w motor and i want to change the Display, Motor and if its necessary also the controller to to make it faster. Do you know if it works?

After installing , motor works but it doesn’t engage , sounds like motor is just spinning . What am I missing ? Thanks

I believe there are nine which is pretty much standard for ebike motors.

I wonder if the stock Himiway bike is a rebranded Bafang made to their specs. The company that builds the Himiway builds bikes for several different brands one of which is RAD E-bikes. So I think they have the buying power to get motors made for them by Bafang. This is good to know because Himiway is not always that easy to work with when needing replacement parts. Also I'm sure with a little research one could figure how to swap connectors on the Bafang motor to work with the controller on the Himiway. However it wouldn't be a bad move to swap controllers and displays while using the Himiway battery.

We do offer an adaptor as well now so the Bafang motor works on the stock Himiway system.

Hello because of a good Himiway bike After 3 weeks and about 15 km it is defective (no more pedal assist) After I tried the support they wanted a video from me with the description of the problem, what I had done. The driving assistance via hand throttle worked perfectly, what I showed in the video. And what email came back from China ??? a video how I can speed up the hand throttle illegally, with the statement that they helped me with it ????????? I think the Himiway Service in China can't even watch video properly. I've only had the bike 3 weeks and already have a neck on Himiway. I hope for you that you never have to use the service, because the support in Germany gives the problem also only to China, because nothing else comes from there either. Have fun with your Himiway and hopefully never a warranty case.

Sounds like the pedal assist sensor is either broken or you may have a short from one of the breaks (which cut-out petal assist when you squeeze them, check the magnets in your break lever, too, could be out of position).

Hello, thank you very much for your inspiration. I found the error, it was the crankcase cover, which was installed too close to the sensor. I made and attached a 2mm seal, and it has worked perfectly since then. Unfortunately, I had to find out that the controller is too weak, because on gradients of over 15%, the controller failed twice, which is why I got myself a tuning kit for $400 and am currently installing it. Thank you again for your help

Yes, you have to purchase the adaptor from our website and you can plug it right into the factory controller afterwards.
