A small detail I love is that we learn that humanity learned to fly only 40 years ago and in episode 3 when Frieren and Fern fight Qual, he is surprised to learn Frieren can fly now as Qual was sealed about 80 years ago. We even get a pov shot of Qual briefly looking for Frieren on the ground before seeing her up in the air

I fucking LOVE that shot. Frieren does a great fucking job at showing instead of explaining (or overextending in the explanations). It was simple, the shot shaked left and right as Qual is looking for Frieren, only to be surprised by demon killing Zoltraak an instant later. It's masterpiece storytelling over and over

Frieren said that it's only been 40 years since mankind learnt to fly. So 80 years ago when they fought the demon king and his army. She couldn't even fly. A fun little analogy that i can share now, The party of heroes were what you would normally describe as misfits. A "Fake" Hero, A Corrupt Priest, A "Cowardly" Warrior, and A "Disgraceful" Mage. Yet out of all the parties in the world, they were the ones to finally defeat the demon king. A fun little analogy to make.

Frieren picked out the ring at random, but based on his surprise when he saw the design, we can easily assume Himmel knew what it meant. Because of how fast she'd made her decision he thought that Frieren had picked that ring on purpose as a subtle love declaration, to which he responded by taking a knee and putting it on her finger himself to reciprocate her feelings. The tragedy was that Frieren never knew what the ring meant, and that Himmel loved her, until he was already long gone.

Ep 12 was my fav Frieren episode. It wasn't grand with the animation or anything but Stark's backstory really tugged my heart 😭 The revelation that stark didn't just run away because he's a coward but his brother told him to because he wanted him to live (goat brother btw!) The way it comes full circle with the past & present. Stark finally learning that he is loved by those important figures in his life thru that hamburg steak 🥺😭❤️ Btw, Milet also is the one who did Frieren's ED "Anytime, Anywhere" which has become my fav ED 💜

For as much as Fern calls others pervs, you'll see throughout the show that she's really the one with the dirty mind lol. More interesting tidbits: 12:55 remember back when Frieren was getting the hair ornament for Fern's birthday, Fern was saying she bought ridiculous things? During that episode, the potion was one of the things she mentioned Frieren buying. 13:04 Frieren's VA is Anya from SpyxFamily, so her doing the Anya face is pretty funny. 16:25 Stark's father has the VA Yasuyuki Kase, who voices characters such as Kankuro from Naruto, Morgans from One Piece, Gotanda from Oshi no Ko (the director Aqua studies under), as well as some various side characters from shows like Bleach, Code Geass, etc. 16:50 the cape getting dirty, then Stoltz kneeling in the mud, is more impactful after his dad made a point earlier saying "look how pristine he is after fighting a monster, he's really the pride of this village", then being willing to dirty it to train his brother that everyone deems a failure. Stoltz's VA is Takuya Eguchi, who voices Loid from SpyxFamily, Dot from Mashle, Domas from Ranking of Kings (the sword instructor of the princes), Shuji Hanma from Tokyo Revengers, Souei from Slime, etc. 32:45 Fern and Stark have been sheltered from romance most of their lives, with Fern living by herself with a priest, and Stark training in a warrior village and alone with Eisen. Makes sense they get flustered that much easier. Also explains how rocky the relationship is between them at first, since they don't know how to act with the opposite gender around the same age. 34:25 I think Sein's mindset was that his brother gave up a ton just to keep Sein happy and a semblance of his normal life, so to completely leave the village to be an adventurer would waste his brother's potential future. "He stayed here for me and now can't get that prestigious position in the holy capital, so I'm going to stay so that his sacrifice isn't wasted." 42:40 the headpat callback to the first episode is nice Also, Frieren's ring has a budding lotus as opposed to Fern's blooming one. Seems to signify their love will blossom, but Frieren and Himmel's never will get the chance to. The details are very nice in this show
