Wow, really close to ‘ōlelo Hawai’i (Hawaiian language) As a Hawaiian, I can kind of understand it, better than I can understand Tahitian, Tongan or Samoan. Me te aloha mai na mau motupuni o Hawai’i nei❤️

The Penrhyn language is so beautiful! I see it more as it's own language rather than being a Cook Island's Maori dialect.

You’re absolutely correct 💙 Tongareva, Pukapuka, Manihiki/Rakahanga have a different dialect to the southern group. Each island in the Cook Islands has there own dialect but we can still speak in Cook Islands Maori so we understand eachother but when we are on our own islands, we speak our own language ! But honestly, the northern group of islands have the most interesting dialect out of the whole Cook Islands and to me, is the best out of all the dialects in the Cook Islands 💙 Hope this helps x

Yes I totally agree with you dangerislander. Tongareva speaks a language different from the rest of the cook islands. Like the brothers and sisters of pukapuka, Tefuinga o niva and tapuahua. Tongareva speaks hotuan language and is the last island to speak it. Very true.

@@teokotaiandrew3472 what's hotuan langauge? Sounds very interesting!
@teokotaiandrew34723 жыл бұрын
@@dangerislander it is the language that our anvestors once spoke. Some of those words are still used today. Hotuan is a dialect of the sumerian language.
