Splitting assigned damage does not work that way. You have to do at least 1 damage to each target, or they are not targeted, which means no discount.

You are correct. I looked it up on Gatherer and saw no rulings, but on MTG Assist and there are rulings on there. I humbly retract my comments on Aurelia's fury, Conflagrate and Rolling Thunder! Magic is a complicated game, and sometimes I get too excited.

I thought it was said correctly, either Aurelias fury you can choose any amount of targets, so if there are 20 different things I can potentially target, that would 20 less mana so I could just pay a red and a white to Essentially kill everything because there are infinite possibilities of targets so I could set x to whatever I wanted as long as it matched the potential targets making the spell deal an absurd amount of damage for Essentially free. It makes sense to me and thats exactly what the card says. I'm so confused.

I just looked it up and Aurelias fury would work, every site, person and rules text I saw said that it would discount the card

Magic is a super confusing game sometimes, and despite me and my friends having decades of experience, we still get things wrong all the time. Thank you for watching!

@@bettercommander Depending on the build you're going for, Aurelia's Fury is still pretty good in the deck. Granted, I'm leaning more towards a heroic build, but it does work in there. Just cast it on end step and get tons of heroic triggers at the low cost of pinging everything for 1. Even better with Orvar and friends out.

You might want to try moving the mic away from your mouth. Lots of popping on the t's, peaking on the s's and breathing sounds. Love the video otherwise man :) 😀
