It never implies he is cheating, and the fact that he's bringing up that it's "hard" to be faithful means that he most likely will stay faithful. Hell, sometimes circumstances are rough and you have to be away from someone you don't want to be away from. Among all of the sweet romantic songs out there, I find this one to have some of the most realism. Makes it easier to connect to, at least to me.

I recently had something similar to that but it was still very different, my "best friend" love the guy I was dating, at the time we were fighting a lot over stupid things because I was a little unstable, so she took it as an opportunity to get him to break up with me and for 6 months I felt broken, we had remained friends but hardly talked, it hurt him to talk to me but we both still loved each other and missed each other, I had tried to move on my dating someone else that he said he trusted me with. Things didn't end well with me and that guy during those 6 months and one day my ex (the one my "best friend" liked) asked me to come over after he had returned from a trip and we kissed and did other things, a few weeks after that he asked me out again and a month into the relationship again he told me why he broke up with me, that the person I saw as a sister wanted him and took advantage of the weak point in our relationship, only she never got him, and me and him have been together since for a year. It taught me a good lesson though and me and her are no longer friends, my only question is if she knows why we aren't friends anymore, if not then oh well, I'm not going to talk to her ever again.
