As a Muslim Tanwar Rajput whose family migrated to Pakistan, we were never or are ashamed of our Indian (Hindustan) background, as a matter of fact my Uncle won Zilla Council Chairman election seat on the very premise in Khanewal, and mostly settlers from India , rajput or non rajput were happy at his victory. We do not associate ourselves with Persians or Arabs , we always have associated ourselves with India.....I used to think Hindu Rajputs did not accept us, but after research found that many Rajputs exist amongst Sikhs too.....changing ones religion does not change your ancestry or tribe. I agree with Buzurgo here as well, we generally or mostly do not marry into our Paternal cousins too, our chachaas aur tayaas daughters we treat no different than our own real sisters. I remember only till 20, 30 years ago our rajput elders were used to follow many hindu traditions. for example, most of muslim rajput used to conduct duswan, teeswan, chaliswan when someone would die. and a couple of traditions like bring sugar and clothes etc by relatives of deceased were purely from hindu religion. Now most of muslim rajputs do not do such functions and call them against spirit of islam. the best thing i learnt from this video was the difference between rangar and rajput. :)

Hindu Rajputs, Jatts and other Hindu clans were forcibly converted by Aurangzeb during his era. Hindus were collected by Aurengzeb forces, their janeoos were taken down forcibly, water was kept in a big bucket, aayaats from Quran Sharif were recited alongside water, after that water was sprayed on those collected Hindus.
