A lot of scholars are now realising the errors that had been made previously when calculating the time span of a Yuga. The billion and million year theories are dead in the water now. Mahabarata was most likely between 7000-8,000 years ago and the Ramayana was at between 12000-14,000 years ago

Sorry but the meaning of upanishads is not as simplistic as seating near the teacher. Since other vedic knowledges are transmited from a master to a disciple this give no relevance to the word upanishads. As described by René Guenon, the meaning here is actualy to emphasise that the upanishads contains the teachings that bring you the closest to the absolute, but given the very metaphysical «nature» of that absolute no teacher can give you its knowledge, this has to be an individual quest from there on to the knowledge.

Every Hindu knows this. This is the most common misconception that Muslims have about us. They think we worship stones. If you think we worship stones then you are wrong. We do not worship the stone idol. It is just a medium. It is also an ingredient in the worship ritual, just like the flower or the incense sticks. @@super7ace No one knows anything about the God. You or religions can pretend to know about God and sell it to public. All Hindu Gods are man made Gods.....Quran and Bible are man made books, which are falsely claimed to be from God.

@@ordinaryperson1902 These are people who has experienced God within themselves (kabir, meera, lao tsu, buddha, krishna etc) & (swami vivekanand, ramkrishna paramhansh, Sadguru, Osho, J Krishnamurti), if you wanna dig deeper then look at any of these life's, teachings. I personally follow Osho but you can first analyze and think of what they ve said and then you decide whether they are correct or not nd get to know what they have experienced. But if you just wanna be like dead stone then you can keep up with your knowledge that all the religions are myth.
