I got a set of these not too long ago and they work great at work. Got a set of the chain ones too to replace the peerless I’ve been issued a while back. Super smooth and easy to get onto people in the early am on night shift lol. Only thing due to the hinge being a bit bigger it doesn’t fit into most standard handcuff pouches. Had to get an asp specific pouch or a more universal pouch.

Asp is a great handcuff and has a lot of great features and great things going for it but im just partial to my tried and true smith and Wesson hinged cuffs and I also carry a set of chain as well they have never let me down and with that being said if it gets to the point to where I got to put handcuffs on someone and I have to fight them I could care less what way the key holes are facing and idk about any more but I was taught to keep the key holes facing up right and away from the subject of passable to limit the chance of picking them on a compliant subject

Yes they shake rattle and roll. All ASP hinged do. I do not have those pouches but they do rattle.

Better than CCP. I’d say Japan or Taiwan are GTG. Smith & Wesson are made in the US, but I’ve noticed their tolerances aren’t as tight nor as slick. The quality compared to 10 years ago on S&W has gone down.

@@andresc5915I agree I have noticed new smith cuffs aren’t as good as they use to be. I have a set of 103s that I’m not impressed with the workman ship on them.

@@claytonandryyeah. The only ones I’ve kept are my newer Model 300-1 hinged cuffs from S&W. I guess I got lucky with those because the tolerances and the quality is really good, but other than that, my chain cuffs are ass. Now, every box of Peerless that I buy, great quality… like what S&W used to be. The asp sentry cuffs are great. I liked them, but gave them up because they were always too slick and had a tendency to be put on too tight or accidentally tightened with a gentle touch. So for that, I’m sticking with peerless and keeping my S&W as backups.

I have seen someone do a chain binding attack on the chain version of the Sentry handcuffs. They said it was excruciating to achieve, vastly worse than trying to snap open any other brand. But the cheek plates never separated. They stayed solid together. The inner softer metal is what gave way and the swivel popped out. I think their screws are proprietary and I've been unable to unscrew them.
