Easy repairs, accessible spare parts, less prone to break down and no stupid electronics attachment. Good old Hino AK series.

No Problem, WTheInventor. Myself was a bus driver berfore. Used to drive one of those Hino AK some 15 years ago. Quite a reliable workhorse compare to an old junk like this. Cheers!

Awesome sound and video recording. Very close to the Indian Ashok Leyland Hino sounds of the 90s

I thought Cummins 6BT would be noisy but because these Hino EH700 engine don't use any turbo, they are so much louder than a C ummins.

A pure Hino......it seems a hino around year 1992-1996

Yes. Hino AK176 has 5 speed transmission. Express502 maybe got confused because the driver never use the 1st gear at all. Hino AK & most of diesel engines doesn't need the 1st gear to move on. 2nd gear is good enough... :) Just for info, 1st gear is at the very left engage to the rear. If you see, the driver is always putting to the left and front every each time the bus start moving from a stand still. That's the 2nd gear all the way 3rd, 4th, & 5th.

I would think of first being made as a 'hill start' gear or first low. Second then becomes first and so on. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

Fancy meeting you here Nick! :) You like Hinos too eh? Would love a manual Hino or Mitsubishi, but got too many buses already :( At least I can take comfort and joy in that I have been able to drive a little Mitsi :D Love and miss that little thing.... Only thing this video is missing is some aggressive down-shifting to a stop ;)
