Some days after there were heavy snow falls, we found perfect conditions in one of the most popular ascend on Ortler. The famous Hintergrat, a long ridge on Ortler's south-east side, is normaly overcrouded. But we had luck to be just with 4 other climbing teams in the route.
From the Hintergrat hut we startet at 4:30 am and climbed slowly to enjoy this nice route. On the way down there were no special difficulties (the crevasses were covered by snow) that we could reach the Payer hut at 1:30 pm. It was a good idea to stay one day longer at the Payer hut to enjoy the special moments of sunset in the mountains.

an der stelle heute mit kette, ist mir damals ein stück Fels ca. 3 m³ an meiner reepschnur, in die Tiefe gestürzt. dann weitergehen war naja recht heftig.
