A really amazing live performance is at Earls Court, the May 25,1975 version of In My Time Of Dying Andriu1962 version, there’s 2 from that concert, but the 12 minute & 24 second one is the best. Jimmy Page kills it on a slide guitar, Bonham’s drumming, & Plants vocals are so amazing. Performing live they more often improvise, within the frame of the song, & no two concerts are the same. Thank you for your reaction.

Classic Led Zeppelin song, 'Black Dog', great riff composed by John Paul Jones (bass and keyboards) played by Jimmy Page, with an incredible guitar solo! This is a great live performance by the band, from 1973, great vocals as always from Robert Plant. John Bonham was one of the best drummers ever, there is a solo he does during the song 'Moby Dick' at the Royal Albert Hall in 1970 and it lasts 15 minutes, it's incredible! I've watched it on youtube. Bonham sadly passed away in 1980 and that's when the band broke up. And yes, you're right, when the band got together for a reunion concert in 2007, Bonham's son, Jason played the drums and he was excellent! Thanks so much for the reaction, Anthony. ❤😊

This song has nothing to do with a black dog, however when the band all lived wrote & recorded music, at an Estate called Headley Grange. There was a black Labrador that hung around, the band couldn’t think of a name for the song, so named it after their friend the black Lab. The band used The Rolling Stones mobile studio while there, Stairway To Heaven was written there, among other songs. The most sampled drum beat, was recorded in the amazing 3 story entrance hall, how they set everything up it’s such a full rich sounding beat. Even some that tried recording there, didn’t have the amazing John Bonham, so it never sounded the same. Bonham is still so missed to this day, the greatest drummer ever.

Jason Bonham was born in 1966, he can be seen as a 7ish year-old boy in the film "The Song Remains the Same" on a junior drum kit, during his father's "Dream Sequence". He filled in for his dad during the "Celebration Day" benefit show to raise money to support causes promoted by Ahmet Ertegun (the Atlantic Records exec who originally signed LZ sight unseen in late 1968) at the "02 Arena" in 2007. He also played with the band at Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary concert in May of 1988 (not a memorable performance!). During the lead up to the 07 show, the tickets went on sale, and they received 20 million requests, forcing them to go to a lottery system for them. This smashed all records for ticket requests for any show, ever!

Don't ever forget John Paul Jones. He was the heart of LZ.
@annemaclean66345 күн бұрын
Absolutely, John Paul Jones is an incredible musician, I would say more or less the backbone of the band, always in the background, but his bass and keyboard playing is second to none.😊😊

This is exactly why you want to see LIVE CONCERTS, where LZ was AWESOME and no songs were the same as vinyl recordings. Solos galore. Saw them 3X `69 & 70 at Winterland SF and again `77 Oakland ball park. The 2 indoor concerts were the chit. These songs are 50+ years old and NEVER get old! Want to get blown away? Watch MSG "Dazed and Confused".

You missed the line, "the way you walk that way, watch your honey drip, can't keep away. I am sure you know what he means by "Honey drip." LOL. Bonham died in 1980 and Zeppelin broke up. His son would have been 14 in 1980. LOL. However, in the few reunion type things they did, his son fill in and played drums for them. But that was only a handful of things.

LZ was such aloud band I feel they paused before Robert sang so that his words could be heard and his voice not strained, although he did eventually strain his voice when he sang one long concert with a cold.. LZ would often do 3 hour concerts day after day.

those "different" time signatures/drums -guitar, then pulling it all together is not only outrageously good, it's also difficult to record/perform. Zep was never conventional.

I want the world and everyone in my orbit to know that I'm a badass turned into a nice guy. All the world's a stage and play on it, I must.
