This is how music was made when I was a teenager...no auto tune, no sampling...just talented musicians rocking their asses off.
@Thedesertguy759 ай бұрын
Exactly
@keithgraham85888 ай бұрын
Holy fuck, give it up already you fucking boomers. If talent = good music than why does Queen and Tool have such horrible music?... Music is random sounds put together, anything can be music if you put the sounds into a melody. Also, just because there was no auto tune or sampling doesn't mean they didn't need sound engineers to make it sound decent. Bands still needed to use correction tools in the studio back in the day otherwise it would all just sound like static. That is all autotune is, is a correction tool.

There's a reason why Iron Maiden have been going for nearly 50 years. That is because they are one of the pioneers of metal. They have influenced so many bands (including Metallica) that you probably couldn't count them. They are still making incredible music to this day and to watch them live is an experience not to be missed. Welcome to your Maiden journey my friend. Up the Irons!

Maiden are the ultimate musical story tellers. I often think they sound like modern heavy metal versions of old medieval folk songs. They are true masters! Their live shows are always top notch. The old Maiden had 2 guitar players. Adrian Smith left the band in 1990 and was replaced by Janick Gers. When Bruce left 1994 Maiden kinda hit the wall with a new singer. I couldn’t get into it, I thought Maiden was dead. BUT….in 1999 Dickinson and Smith both came back. Janick Gers also remained, and they’ve been rocking with 3 guitarists ever since. Their sound is much more progressive now than ever before. But there’s still plenty of that classic Maiden sound peppered throughout. I love Maiden now just as much as I ever did since first hearing them back in the early 80’s. To me…they’ve only gotten better with age.

I first heard this song on a borrowed audio tape in 1983 when I was in 9th grade. I was already a Maiden fan, but life was different after that day. Beautiful it is. I came out on the album before The Trooper. This is the singer's first album with Maiden, Number of the Beast. The follow-up to this, with a new drummer is Piece of Mind. This particular song allowed Bruce to show his full range. Yes, it was the British Heavy Metal bands that made the genre. Thrash happened in the U.S. because they all were listened to the British bands. The tap root goes all the way back to Birmingham to Black Sabbath.

The main thing to know about Maiden is their music is built like classical music with heavy guitars, and the bassist writes most of the songs. Also the lead singer Bruce Dickinson is basically an opera singer in a metal band. He is also a champion fencer (fancy swordplay) and is a commercial airline pilot that regularly flies the band around the globe on their own giant jet plane. These guys mean business. You need to do the live version from ‘82 at Hammersmith. Iron Maiden was formed in 1975 by Bassist Steve Harris. For their first two albums they had a different lead singer Paul Di’Anno. For their third album “Number of the Beast”, of which this song is from, they replaced lead singer with Bruce Dickinson. This album was released in 1982 and the Trooper is from their fourth record “Piece of Mind”. Iron Maiden is one of the very few bands with 3 guitar players, this gives some amazing harmonies. “UP THE IRONS!!!” Mollyboy, listen up bro. I have been a Maiden fan since ‘83, I was twelve. I’ve seen them twice live and my son’s first concert was Iron Maiden and Megadeth. We still talk about that show and it was over ten years ago. Now my son has a son and I can’t wait to take my grandson to his first Maiden concert. Keep doing what you do! Your channel ROCKS! Up the Irons!

Been a Maiden fan since 1980. Saw them with Judas Priest in'82 in Phoenix. Awesome show.
