True. I had heard about this band when I was younger, but I never had the chance to listen to it. I have listened to their whole discography and I attest to your claim. Chuck Schuldiner's stood out from the rest of the death metal acts.

evilash1970 I agree. Because they’re the Gods Of Death Metal And are the creators of the genre still going strong since 1987 when they released Scream Bloody Gore. Plus I even know they’re one of the heaviest metal bands in the world. I rate them 10 out of 10 in the death metal genre in general.

Firstly I myself am a hip hop finatic, I love most hip hop artsist from 80s to today , Kool G Rap, Nas, Pac, Big, Mobb Deep, Black Moon, Sean P, Jedi Mind Tricks, Necro, Ill Bill, Dre, Snoop, MC Eiht, Dmx, Rass Kass, O. C. Wu Tang, Doppelgangaz, Omniscence, Cormega, Drake, Cube, Big L, Camp Lo, No Limit, Geto Boys, Main Source, Khadafi, CNN, Immortal Technique, Kodak Black, Lone Ninja, Twin Perils, MF Doom, Lost Boyz, Masta Ace, Em, Mac Miller, Godfather Don, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Redman, Cypress, A Tribe, De La Soul, Bronson, Scientifik.... I could be here all day litterally naming my favourite hip hop, but a few years ago I heard the band death and I totally fell in love with not only the group but all metal genres especially Death/Thrash and Black Metal - Death, Napalm Death, Burzum, Dark Throne, Sepultura, Obituary, Slayer, Venom, Possessed, Behemoth, Morbid Angel, Pantera, Black Sabbath Cannibal Corpse, Sound Garden, Megadeth, Kreator, Pestilence, Candle Mass, Bathory, Deicide, Exodus, Metallica, Hell Hammer, Celtic Frost, Maiden, Mayhem, and again the list goes on... I just wanted to express that you can truly love both these genres and others along with each other,, also I love reggae, house, classical, Country, etc..Thanks for reading lol.

Nice!! Rock on dude! Huge metalfan all my life, but i enjoy lots of other genres as well.. Classic rock, jazzfusion, classical music, hiphop/triphop, blues, pop, psychedelic rock/trance, techno, traditional/folk, industrial, singer-songwriter etc. Etc... true love for music trancends genres and categorizations. Cool you also discovered your love for heavy music! 🤘Cheers!

Im a big metalhead i could sit here all day and name hundreds of bands i love, but im really into other genres too like Folk (traditional music and the newer classification that acoustic down to earth music gets), indie music, 70s and 60s country, and a big fan of classical, and ambient music (Dungeon Synth and dark ambient mostly), but never been a huge fan of Hip hop. As you can see, im mostly a man who loves real instruments, aside from ambient music, and loves when the artists themselves play said instruments. And when im not, im either looking for something with great lyrics or some great instrumental music. However, i always like trying new music, so if you could recommend me some good artists, that'd be great.

@@shapeshifter-theamorphousg3264 would like to add that music also transcends language as well, i love listening to different genres in different languages especially, traditional and Acoustic genres which give the language the biggest spotlight. I think Russian is my favorite to listen to metal in, French my favorite to listen to acoustic indie in, and Norwegian my favorite to listen to traditional in.

Death has such a wide soundscape that just 3 songs wouldn't cut it. Human is a pillar of Death Metal culture, because Schuldiner put something new with a lot of influences. Each song is a step to something higher, to reach some spatial spheres with "Cosmic Sea". I discovered this record in 2011, but I still find something new in it, and I especially love how "See Through Dreams" conducts by this final far scream to this incredible piece of art that is "Cosmic Sea" !

While all albums from Death are great, I always found myself enamored with Chuck's style married with Andy LaRocque 's genius guitar playing, perfected by Steve Di Giorgio's fretless bass and Gene Hoglan's drum mastery. Death in Individual Thought Patterns was on cheat code mode. Chuck was able to form a band made of Gods.

Chuck had immense amounts of composing imagination - each song after Human or so is an adventure, you never knew what the next part would hold. He was taken too young from the music community, he obviously had so much to offer yet. Check his Fragile Art Of Existence album where he lets another singer take the vocals and he focuses on composition and playing, you will be thoroughly amazed.

Bro! I first saw Death play at the Afterdark Club off Mangum in Houston back in 89 or 90 (Dopn't recall, been a while). That club closed many moons ago, though. THe opening band was named Devastation. So, yeah, had to go to a show with the featured bands being "Death and Devastation". Insane show.

I worked at After Dark when Death played in '90 and I was able to see many great bands in the 2 years I worked for Ali and Emmy... Death, Sepultura, Napalm Death, Fates Warning, Flotsam & Jetsam, Helstar, and Kreator just to name a few.... Good times man.
