They literally say at the beginning of every one of these videos that they're just doing a run through in real time with no explanations, and that they have other videos that go into greater detail. Use your ears people! Great video, thank you so much:))

Hi, I love your videos a lot. I am wondering why you give extra pressure just after the active movement and then later on you still do the passive movement?
@ClinicalPhysio
@ClinicalPhysio Жыл бұрын
Hi! Effectively this video is mainly to show the order rather than the individual tests in the context of the patient. But we do have full videos like “Hip active range of movement” and “hip passive range of movement” if you like 😊

Why do you do a more pressure at the end of the rang in active movement Thank you 🌹🌹
@ClinicalPhysio
@ClinicalPhysio 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rahaf! Good question this is called over pressure which is effectively an extra check to really ensure that the patient has full range and also to check the end feel. You can find out more about this in our Passive Range of Movement or Active Range of Movement videos for each joint

Is there a reason why you would do hip IMT after passive testing but for the shoulder you did IMT before passive testing? Thanks for the help
@ClinicalPhysio
@ClinicalPhysio 2 жыл бұрын
No not necessarily, I suppose doing IMT after passive testing is probably more conventional!

this is great and helps a lot, would also appreciate the names of the muscle test we are doing and why we are doing them, what exactly are we looking for.

Hi Valeria! Thank you so much for your message, we definitely have all these details in our other videos such as “Hip Active Range of Movement Testing” or “Hip Palpation”. These videos go into more detail about it

Hey Joel! You can find all of these in our individual hip assessment videos... for example, you will find in our videos "Hip Palpation", "Hip Resisted Tests" which will give you AAAAALL the details 👍🏼

Hi Sandeep! As we say at the start and end of the video, this was just to show the order. However, please do check our videos on Hip Active Range of Movement, Hip Passive Range of Movement, Hip Resisted tests...... as these all go into lots of detail about the tests performed and what we look for with each movement

Great video. But I would like to know where we have to test with overpressure after all the AROM test, isn't it we test the other structures such as muscles that is stretched, joint, capsule etc in the PROM? If we have checked the full AROM with overpressure, what is the purpose of doing the PROM again ?
@ClinicalPhysio
@ClinicalPhysio Жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you so much for your message! We have some great videos that explain all of this… for example, we have the individual video “Hip Test AROM” , we also have “why test AROM” and also “why test PROM”
@jcjane3350
@jcjane3350 Жыл бұрын
@@ClinicalPhysio yes, I do watched the video, but I just cant understand why there is overpressure test right after the PROM?
@ClinicalPhysio
@ClinicalPhysio Жыл бұрын
@@jcjane3350 So on the video, the first step is to check the range of movement of the knee to “clear the joints” and make sure that the knees are not part of the picture. Then the next step is Active Range of Movement Testing with Overpressure… THEN we do Passive Range of Movement testing. So the Overpressure is done with Active Range Testing, not Passive Range Testing… Remember, we may only perform Overpressure if the Active Test has full range of movement and no pain is seen, so we can stress the joint fully. We may not do this though for example if they only have 50% movement and it is painful
@jcjane3350
@jcjane3350 Жыл бұрын
@@ClinicalPhysio thank you for the clear explanation! Practically, if our patients get full AROM and we tested with the overpressure to check the joint, do you think is there a necessary to check the Passive ROM again?
@ClinicalPhysio
@ClinicalPhysio Жыл бұрын
@@jcjane3350 no problem… in answer to your question, not necessarily if you are able to fully stress the joint and there is absolutely no pain and no concerns. However, for your university exams and placements you may wish to always do so to demonstrate your knowledge to the examiner

Thank you so much for your message Ana! Hopefully you heard during the video (intro and outro) that this video is intentionally basic just to show the order of how we do it! We then say that we have lots and lots of other videos on the channel that go through the step by step process with LOTS of detail. Please listen again to the intro and outro for details of this!
