I have been Cancer Survivor for a little over 20 years now but have still struggled with discouraging chronic muscle and joint pain as a result of my years of treatment. I didn’t know how I could function with my pain- then I found your videos. I didn’t realize how much simple yet mindful movements could improve my body’s overall function- but they did! I have been following your guided exercises daily for little less than a year now and my flexibility has improved and so has my confidence! Thank you sir for sharing your knowledge and expertise, it’s greatly appreciated.

yes! the effectiveness of movement practice is not related to complexity of movement. It is more related to one's attention and quality of movement. So I believe movement practice is simple, yet, cotinuing to show up everyday with great attention and mindfulness is the most difficult part. Sounds like you're doing very well! So keep it up!

So glad I found this video! I'm dealing with chronic pelvic pain and my physiotherapist advised me that my pelvic floor could be making up for lack of strength in other areas of my body, such as my hips. She also told me to do exercises SLOWLY to gain better strength and motion, and Taro is only the second person that's ever told me that! And I've been to osteopaths!! Am so glad I have new exercises to add to my routine to get my hips strong. Thank you!!!!!

Happy New Year! Excellent as always. Wonder if you have one for mid back? I get tight aright about where a bra band sits. By God my body has been screaming for this for weeks and I couldn't hit the hips properly no matter how much mobility stretching I did 🙃🙃 Thank you !! Hit the right spot LOL please can you do a video on how to breathe properly during mobility stretching and when working out ? And what mobility stretches or warms up would you suggest before exercise?? I am stuck 🥺 I feel stiff or limited in joints areas - As most do - doesn't matter the age LOL turning 26 .. but I keep getting injured and I keep stretching and mobility and somehow that keep happening in the joints 😪 I do see fitness people do foam rolling and mobility before exercise but I'm lost in that area and want to get stuck into the workout LOL thank you 💓 been told my physios I have tight carfs and quads- basically hamstrings and knee caps - I'd like a quick warm up before exercise to make sure all is loose 💓💓 I love your videos and it makes sense now! Good! Please make sure you don't turn this movement practice into a stretching exercise, meaning you don't push/pull your muscles as far as you can or until you feel a stretch. If you focus on improving the whole body coordination, smoothness of movement, then you'll improve your hips, as well as the rest of your body:)

sounds like any movements that involve much rotation/twisting of pelvis and spine can be aggravating, so initially focusing on more symmetrical movements (don't involve rotation/twisting) then gradually moving into more asymmetrical movements might be helpful. My Improve Core Strength and Functions Playlist might be a good start for you.

I'm quite flexible and can physically do this, even all the way down but I have an issue I can't figure out.. So when my left knee goes from being internally rotated to back up I get a cramping like pain on the back of my thigh but more towards the side.. Is that an it band issue? I don't have the pain generally, it only produces when doing this movement and I've been trying to figure it out for a long time and see what I can do to fix it. I also have a slight lateral pelvic tilt on my left side and don't know if it's related or not but when leaning forward when sitting, afterwards I feel very achy at the front of my hip but sort of more round the illium/psoas area. Any ideas? Thanks 😊

you would get more benefits if you approach this lesson from a coordination and integration perspective. mobility is not the same as flexibility. my teaching doesn't really focus on flexibility. this focuses on improving hip-pelvis-torso coordination. it's not necessary to move that far to get benefits. when you integrate all parts well, you will greatly improve your mobility (ability to move) :)

I would think more about moving gently and smoothly vs stretching muscles. it's quite possible you're pushing too hard. not necessary for improvements

Recently i saw ur video on neck release feldenkrais style. I was amazed, instantly improvement! Do you have something to decrease wrist pain and increase wrist mobility? my wrist dorsiflexion is very limited, not even 90 degrees, feels like barely 45 degrees.

Thanks for the comment! I don't have anything specific for wrist mobility, but in general, I prefer to work on developmental movement patterns in quadruped, hands and feet, side sitting, plantar grade positions, which encourage wrist extension in functional manner.

Hi! If my left hip feels incredibly tight and not mobile (even with two cushions)when doing the hip rotation but my right hip doesn't. does that mean I've got LPT with a left leaning movement bias?

while sitting sideway, hip mobility affects pelvis. while standing, how you stand, distribute weight also reveals your bias, which affects pelvis and spine (side to side, front and back). We all have a combination of LPT, APT/PPT, and/or rotational pelvic biases at least to a certain degree.
