A 5th generation fighter would dominate everything but dogfighting anyway, so naturally it should be excluded from H2H servers or it's all anyone would fly. Maybe I'm out of touch with the majority, but I can't think of an aircraft I want to see less. Would rather see more investment in taking the rest of the FC3 aircraft full fidelity, after the F-15C. And not raining on anyone's parade, if you're all excited for this, I'm happy for you. And if this 'grows the brand' and brings more people into DCS, I can't say that it's a bad thing.

Completely contrary to what ED has always claimed. So, ED (or a third party with license) should develop the Su-57 and/or the J-20 to restore a balance between the blue and red air forces. However, IndiaFoxtEcho has developed beautiful modules for MFS2020 and, in addition to the F-35, the Tornado could also get a license for use in DCS and it would be a success.

What means 90% accurate? How will they simulate the hydraulics damage model properly? Like there is needed to know where the hydraulic pipes are exactly located. Well, there is needed to know exactly everything about its hydraulic system to make the damage model properly.

To be fair the locations of hydraulics is one thing not really required for accurate damage modelling. That and also the F-35 has self contained electrically operated hydraulic units at each actuator. There are definitely more pressing things that required understanding.

Bluefor are easier to get permissions for. USAF and navy (and USA's whole defense industry) loves to get publicity for recruitment (and weapon sales in case of defense industry). Call it the Top Gun effect. There's no need to get a license to put those aircraft in a simulator but you do need official permissions. As such there's a whole lot of bluefor planes in DCS. But Russia and China? They like to control the narrative about their capabilities themselves. Because of that, they don't really like to give permission to simulate their weapons (especially those that are currently still in use) in a simulator because if it's portrayed as less than overpowered, they don't like it.

If I am not mistaken the F-35 touchscreens IRL can be almost entirely controlled by slewing a cursor using the HOTAS. You can touch them, but it's not a requirement.

Heya thanks Andrei for this update. Personally I am more excited about the F15C than that F35 but I am one of those who believe 2 engines are better than one anytime. Just suck a bird into the intake once and find out. I remember when the F15 first came out and was on the cover of Popular Mechanics. imo, F35 doesn't need to be full fidelity but it's appreciated to make a Full-fidelity upgrade when the time is right. as for now. high-fidelity is what i'd like from it. if it's flyable, limited clickable cockpit and importantly. Joint standoff implementation and manual coordinate data entry, because all the time i always enter weapon settings, codes and coordinates by hand.

The 2025 video looks amazing especially with the bombs flashing with the low light and fog. As for the F-35 goes. With the amount of time it takes to build a Module the community as a whole look for Modules that will benefit the greater community. So some ask why not put that time towards something more relevant. The F-35 adds another Aim-120 beast to a game that has no real enemy. The community really wants some good ole Fox 1s and Fox 2 combat like 1960s-1989. The F-35 is exciting but if you are a single player majority then this new technological terror might not interest you like other aircraft would. The Mirage III (as example only) is the 2nd leading MiG distributer of all time. It has shot down more aircraft than the F-35 ever will. Remember Example only.

Its not that we don't want it. We don't want a bunch of guesswork and fantasy thrown into a jpeg and call it a module. DCS always had a certain level of authenticity that other flight Sims lacked. If ED is willing to cut corners to get an aircraft into game that is completely classified. It still has restrictions on its take off and climb rate, even at air shows. If this is possible why not get a full fidelity Su-25S? Or a Su-27? Su-30? F/B-111? Mirage 2000-5? No this is exactly what others are calling it, a cash grab.

What worries me, and I think the root of most people’s concern, isn’t just how they are sourcing the information to create this “full fidelity” module, but what this could mean for the future of DCS. If they are willing to use pure open source data, pilot accounts, and inferences from flight demos, who’s to say that won’t become the norm for future modules? It just feels like a step back from the “full fidelity” we are currently accustomed to, in order to generate hype for a modern jet. Hope I’m wrong, not looking to throw hate around, but I think people have a legit reason to be concerned.

I can see Multiplayer servers of more modern eras the Eurofighter being placed on the Red side to help balance things out. Additionally, considering the use of mods could be beneficial, similar to what Enigma did with the A4-E on the Cold War server. Unfortunately, there currently seems to be little to no module in development for the Red side, in my opinion, introducing mods could improve the Red side's performance, but this is another discussion.

Well, TBF, real-world modern warfare is generally rather unbalanced. I'd say the "balance" part is up to the server admins, not ED. I'm sure that there will be servers who'll allow the F-35 - and don't forget the Eurofighter, another powerful 4.5 gen aircraft - and others who won't.

I'm one of those who doesn't care about balance as I almost exclusively fly only single player, so F-35 is right up my alley as I love to experience what different eras of planes have to offer. I have from oldest to newest Spitfire and Fw-190, A-4E and F-4E, F-18, F-16 and F-15. Adding F-35 to that list only opens up a whole new era to experience flight combat in. I very much look forward to flying it for fun in single player. And as a single player enthusiast, I very much look forward to the dynamic campaign the most! That's what I'm most excited about! And F-35 would be the best way to experience the "easy mode" campaign, heh. I am sure I will fail most of the campaigns with other planes.

F35 in Dcs could be the result of a change in the company’s path due to the huge criticisim from users last year. I mean, DCS makes a great effort creating highly realistic modules for a small nitch of users that start complaining about everything stating they’re not going to buy anything else until whatever reason. As a result the company would be opening it’s business to a not so specialized public with more “arcade” modules. They are running a company at the end of the day so they need it working. Not good news IMHO, but I can understand their move. Hopefully we will still getting new high fidelity modules “in the future”. Flankers would be fantastic.

I personally think the word UnBaLanCeD shouldn't be a word used for DCS. This is a Simulator and not a AAA game. You dont need to play the F35 and you dont need to play on a server with the F35. DCS gives you all the tools you need to balance a server for competition. DCS can be competitive, but YOU will have to decide not ED. However I do criticise the decision of releasing a Jet we dont know that much about and I hope they know what they are talking about.

I've said this for years and I hope people follow suite, when the eurofighter comes out, put it on red side. Reignite the old america vs germany rivalry. My biggest though is that we are getting all these damn blue sided aircraft but mutiplayer servers are so slow to put stuff on red side, it took years for people to start putting the mirage on red. I guarantee you, if they build the eurofighter as to what I think they will, it would balance the game out even before the F-35 if they put it on red side and would make a good adversary to the f-35. Personally the eurofighter is the only module I am looking forward to besides the Tornado(funny enough another german plane).

I think since very few people have never flown one, I can see why not, Even if a completely "Full Fidelity" is released, the obsessed will find fault with it and it can be as ridiculous a incorrect rivet count, or God knows what else. While I am not craving an F-35, I don't have a problem with other people wanting to get it. The good news is, there are options on servers to include and exclude any assets and features they choose. One thing noticeable was the absence of a Nick Grey voice overs, in fact no dialogue whatsoever. There were no timelines when they think any modules will be coming out - including the dynamic campaign which is disappointing. They intentionally blur the timeline between 2025 -- and Beyond

Apart from a straight up airliner, this is the worst possible new modual for me. Soulless, boring and with no realistic opponent. Hard pass.

I particularly liked almost everything shown in the trailer, especially the dynamic campaign; super saber, tornado, FF F-15 among others, will be welcome. Regarding the F-35, for me it is irrelevant, it is not my plane profile, I do not intend to acquire it.

Chill out guys. It will be full fidelity. It is not classified. Only the US version is. Other countries have the F-35 also. Most US fighter jets are classified and DCS will never be able to implement every feature.

No one building a proper red modules? All see in the ads is just blue modules shooting down reds. Mind u all of them are old their is no modern red fighters. It’s really not fair. A proper su30 would be nice.

Don't really care about the F-35 or the Typhoon for that matter but if it helps fund the very needed DCS core Improvements then I am all for it.

This is so cool. I'm not that much a Fan of the F35, I'm more into the Boomer-Airplanes out of the early and late Cold War era - but it is still so cool that they are trying to - one day - release that F35 to experience four the DCS Community =) Yeah, it won't probably have something equal to fight, then - but from a pure study-the airplane -point of view this will still be so cool to experience. Edit: And I mean.. I still hope all the best for our F15E to be developed further.. but YAY, F15C :D

Imaging getting a F-35A when all you want is the harrier AV-8B N/A to be maintained, that is DCS for you....

DCS is not balanced, nor should it be. Being at a disadvantage is part of the experience.

Funny they're adding the F-35A Lightning ii (not complaining) but they still haven't added the F/A-18E Super Hornet....

The perfect F-35 Mission..... Based on its Sensors and Data Link...... That's now happened Twice, at least, in Real Combat. One Air Force Squadron of F-35s is on Strike Mission and Destroys their assigned Targets but, uses all their Air to Ground Weapons to complete their Mission. However, while originally RTB (Return To Base) is then credited with Air to Air, Air to Ground, Surface to Surface, and Even Surface to Sea Targets Destroyed. Lastly, when the Squadron Finally Lands they Still have All their Air to Air Weapons and Canon Rounds. So in English and DCS, if they fully model the F35's Sensors and Data Link, the F35 will act like a Mimi AWACS / JSTARS. Except all NATO Weapons (Aircraft, Man Pad, SAM Site, Warship) in range Will Shoot at Everything that appears on the F35's Sensors...... So, I hope they do not Fully Model the Sensors and/or Data Link.
