Unfortunately there has been a lot of negativity towards J Hope. It's folks not familiar with his background and skills but it's disheartening non the less. They have respect for J Cole but then turn around and don't respect who he's chosen to collaborate with. J Cole has been Hope's idol since he was street dancing before joining BTS. He gave the spotlight to his idol while he danced underground on the subway platform to his verse. This collaboration was a full circle moment for J Hope. It's also his gift to Army's before leaving for his mandatory military service. I really appreciate the knowledge of hip hop you bring to your reactions. As a 54 year old and fan of both bts and hip hop it seems a lot of people have forgotten its roots. 💜

Real recognise real, those who do not appreciate and have an open mind to know how talented and multi genres he is are just not true to hip hop and lacks integrity. Don't waste too much time feeling sorry for them :) spend that time and energy to support Jhope and BTS all the more 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Music should unite people not divide.

There's is no doubt that many Army are being introduced to the great JCole, and Jhope found a really wonderful way to honor his idol. Unfortunately many of the reactors who are JCole fan took this unifying opportunity to rip JHope and his skills disregarding the fact that Jhope purposely took the sideline with only 8 bars to allow JCole to shine, as he knew he would. Anyway, it was nice to see a genuine reaction from someone who has some HipHop knowledge🙏💜💜💜

I’m 46 year old woman from London and a fan of both JCole and BTS and seeing as Hobi is my bias this collab is a freaking dream come true for me. Hobi taking a sideline to someone he considers an icon is the biggest acknowledgement to that and him just jamming along to what JCole is saying is just perfection. Absolutely cannot fault this track or mv in any way. ✌️💜

I think people forget how much j-hope's dancing talent hasn't been fully utilized as much as it could be especially in the last few years. Sure he gets a few seconds for butter dance break, but to see him freestyle dance to his idol rapping is a dream come true for a j-hope bias. I'm so proud of j-hope. I miss him dearly. P.S. I know J. Cole! I first heard his songs long ago.

It's funny how some judge too much... automatically thinking that BTS is a Kpop group that they are categorized them out. Most thinking its Pop music and them being a typical boy band... We should remember that these boys first debuted as hip hop artists. They put out out old school rap, hip hop from what they have listened, studied and loved. Many people can hate, alot of hip hop and rap music now and days, you'll never hear this again. It's rare, why because these boys love, understand and know this music genre. Alot of rappers now and days don't even understand this or can relay back to these old skol, hip hop times... I get that times and music change but put some respect to some who truly love and respect that time, the culture, music genre... there's nothing to prove. They are just doing music and what they love most..m

The hip-hop heads I watched all clocked that Avirex right away. 😂 And the beautiful thing was how many of them said that they came for J. Cole, and were glad to meet J-Hope. They were curious, so they listened to Arson, and More. And now they're digging into J-Hope's discography and wondering, "if this dude is 1/7 of BTS, how good is *their* stuff?!" Many commented on how happy they are to see hip-hop thriving around the world, even if it's in a language they don't understand. This collab is bringing people not just to BTS, but to Korean hip-hop as well. And if Budden and Co. want to double-down on their ignorance and hate, it's their loss. Monq, I've been waiting for your reaction to this - thank you so much for coming through. This song gave me such a feeling of nostalgia - it took me back to my high school and college days. And that "always for us" line gets me every time...

BTS is the reason I opened my eyes to hip hop. This is my first time hearing J Cole and I loved the depth of his part. I really didn’t know if I would enjoy this collaboration but i I did. BTS always talks about something. Every other word isn’t a curse word and they don’t talk about sex. It’s really a breath of fresh air when I hear them. ILove that J Cole did this. We need more of this. The world needs to see through music that we have more in common than we know. That music crosses the language barrier. People peg the members of bts as just a k pop group or boy band but they are more. They can’t be boxed in. J Hope could have gone harder if he wanted but he is leaving for the military and it’s his see you later to Army and his chance to collab with the rapper he looks up to.

“On the Street “ by Jhope and J Cole created a demographic unity which is divided by music preference, ignorance and prejudice. There will be always haters and losers as the collaboration is 🔥 🔥 🔥 . Both genuine artists chose to have a creative, artistic and long lasting impressions . Both artists decided to give good vibes and positivity. This is a crossover between two cultures and two worlds so we should celebrate it. Hoping to listen more to this kind of music that touches the soul.

I agree that most of the younger gen don’t understand what real hip hop means. They should go and research about the artist that JCole Collab with. There is a reason why he would Collab with Jhope. Why is it always easy for people to jump into conclusion about another without finding out more and why hate on them, I don’t understand. It is really free to be kind. Enjoyed your reactions 💜

This song is so meaningful. Two talented hard-working artists who are at crossroads in their careers. I was surprised to hear that some people react to the video make the song seem like it was a competition between j-hope and J. Cole or something. ARMY know that it wasn't. I hope some people new to j-hope checked out his music, because he is a wonderful rapper. I love his voice, his flows so much. It was a beautiful song, beautiful collaboration. It’s because of you I saw KRS-one video and started investigating the beginnings of HIP HOP, and boy was I more than pleasantly surprised. That’s when I started to realize BTS lives and breathes the HIP HOP culture. They are constantly introducing us to new artists. Suga’s show is introducing us to new people, if they have a new project or want to promote something he gives them time to do so. Their entire attitude is about helping others and making quality music. I tried to look at some of those knucklehead reactors but gave up after the first minute. They all claimed to be HH experts but none of them noticed all the references to J Coles video that was included in J-Hope’s. Love your reaction.

Maybe as individuals theyre hip hop heads but I as band much of their stuff isnt hip hop thus people not favouring them or critiquing then is entirely normal as people will get funny if people water down the genre. Noone wants to go to a hip hop night and hear BTS.

@@DarkAngel2512 I totally agree with your statement, “as individuals Hip-Hop heads”, especially the 3 rappers. Although BTS did start as a Hip-Hop group that morphed into the multi genre group they are today. But I most definitely disagree with your statement regarding watering down the genre. BTS rappers can hold their own against any rapper today. I didn’t say they were the best or the greatest, I’m talking about skills like rhyme, word play, flow, change ups and most important story telling with meaning. Suga’s Rapp album released in 23 broke all kinds of records last year. Billboard just announced it was the #1 on the top albums sales chart for 2023. All the rappers released solo albums in 22 and 23, all 3 albums charted extremely well. If that is what you call watering down, I’ll take it any day over what I see and hear in mainstream rapp today. Listen to their music without preconceived notions, you might like it.💜

@@aspasia1705 I think youre getting my point confused a bit. I was pointing out how as individuals they might be hip hop but the group, BTS itself isnt. The group's sound, as you said, is a mix of genres. The CEO changed his mind about making a hip hop crew as was originally intentioned. This resulted in Rapmon and Suga considering leaving and two other members actually leaving. I have listened to all of BTS' songs up until the ones they've made the last couple years. The choreo and styling in their videos/performances is watered-down if comimg from a hip.hop perspective. Their solo efforts are also effected by the same choreo/styling. I dont like Suga's stuff but Rapmon has a few good cameos. Although he still performs in an effected way but thats just unavoidable from habit due to rehearsing regularly under BTS and the mannerisms theyre taught to use. J-Hope is a great dancer but this often doesnt get showcased often and things like his intro when he does interviews isnt how a hip hop head would.inteoduce themself. That again is due to very deliberate crafting from their managment. This is why they get critiqued by hip hop heads. Not because of who they are as individuals but who they are under the banner of BTS and how their management have crafted them.

Well if they go to a HIP-HOP function, and I played any of the songs by the RAP LINE, yes that would fly but no no one would want to hear BTS if we were talking about the group. The problem is that HIP-HOP isn't about who is the Best Spitter, it's roots come from the the first parties thrown by Kool Herd and some others. In those times, the idea of battling wasn't key, it was what the culture was doing which was bringing together people. We seen Bambaattaa do the same thing Herc did with gang culture and the pink rockers. Since then, it seems people confuse skill with heart and this is why I said BTS and the rap line was HIP-HOP because of the magic that they embodied by bringing together people through a culture. This has been forgotten in HIP-HOP even by some of the Legends. 🙏🏾✌🏾😁
