The Beastie Boys are not the Beastie Boys without MCA. I respect the decision. Didn’t Mike and Adam do a track with De La Soul though without Yauch in the past? A track with Eminem could have been epic though!

If they did it, they would have done it as Mike D and Ad-Rock, not Beastie Boys, because MCA was a part of that. The two were on a track with Public Enemy and Run-DMC in 2020 and it was like that.

I can understand them not wanting to do Beastie Boys anymore but MCA wouldn't have wanted them to give up music altogether. I think they should have done it just as Adrock, & Mike D. It's a shame they didn't pursue it.

Honestly, it would be weird. The difference between the old school style of Beastie and the rhyme schemes complexity of Em is too big. I don't say that Beastie style is not legit. It is just that sometimes, 2 things can't be mixed together.

Em would had to switch his style up to match the energy. But Em is a master rapper, he would have found something. We might not have gotten Slim, but Marshall probably would have had a blast. Without all three though beasties, it would have felt something was missing.

Makes sense. D-12 was basically in the same situation with Proof. D-12 was Proof's creation and Em, Yayo and a few others all said it died when Proof died. Basically the same situation. Pretty sure Em would understand where they are coming from. NGL, I would have loved to hear it though. Em has repeatedly cited what an influence the Beastie Boys were on him. Would have been amazing to hear them on a track together.

I think it would have been cool to hear and Eminem/Beastie Boys song together, but I respect Beastie Boys decision because they do miss Adam “MCA” Yauch and without him it’s not the same at all.

Depending on how soon after MCAs death this was brought up it would make sense they might have not been ready to do anything because it would bring of the pain of losing him. 5-10 years later maybe they do something with em as a 3 man track and as a tribute to MCA and the history. Who knows.

Beastie Boys were on Public Enemy's last album with Run-DMC. I think they just didn't want to be associated with Eminem to be honest.

Late to the party, but didn't Eminem do a song that was like a tribute to the Beastie boys and some other artists? I think it was called frenzy or berserk or something like that I don't know.. looking, looking.. yeah, it's Berserk! Good Beastie boys vibe mixed with some Billy Squire.. 'The Stroke', little bit of a shout out to 3rd Base as well in the chorus (Steppin' to the A.M.).. check it out if you haven't, it's a crazy ass video.
