Although Mamson cannot be touched here, I agree that more Hiro vids should be watched. That boy can tear it up in ways I have never seen before.

America still has its legendary dancers like Ejoe Wilson, Popping Pete, Henry Link, Buddha Stretch, Brian Green, etc. who have always been and are still high up there. But it seems to me that the younger generations in the states don't really know how precious these old dancers are and never get to appreciate its cultural treasure while dancers in Asia and Europe hold them so much respect and admirations. I guess that's why they really like to teach and have been kept coming to Asia. mho. peace

@OTKP It really feels like France and Japan own locking, control house, and are monsters in popping. America's got bboying and some awesome popping, but these two countries rock out all styles for sure.

I'm not saying that America doesn't have pioneers, I'm just celebrating the strength of foreign lockers these days. I wish I saw more lockers when I went to American jams, but you usually only find a handful at an event. Popping is much more popular here.

If you are talking about bboying from the 70's to 90's, America no doubt owned it hard. But after 2000, the best bboys in the world have basically shifted all over to Asia and Europe, especially Korea and Japan. As for popping, the US still got the EB. But well, not for long either...

i've been into it since 1974 when we did it at house parties and in chicago baby i know plenty and i don't like the new generation mess! Just my opinion maybe if young people respect the pass we would excepted this new stuff either way i love dancing still and this is my opinion.

I still see Americans hold their own in bboying and popping (and speaking to early decades, being the originators really gave them a head start and advantage), but yeah, I feel you. Of the four styles, I think America's really deficient in locking. You go to a bboy jame and you're lucky to see 3 lockers in a crowd of 200 dancers. I think its lack of popularity doesn't help deepen the talent pool. Peace.
@alexvora11 жыл бұрын
I don't think anyone country has better dancers than any other. In respect to house dancing I do believe that it is not as popular in America than say France or Japan, depending on which region of America you wanna speak of. But America does have quite a few house dancers that are highly regarded such as ejoe and orb. Are they the best in the world? I think that is a matter of taste and opinion. Besides house dancing isn't about competing anyways, house dancing is a feeling.

Dancing and playing music are both forms of communication. When you dance, and when you play and instrument, you are speaking. You are saying something. Remember to use complete sentences. Phrases are nice, but if you don't complete your thoughts, nobody is going to follow. Nobody will know what you are saying.
I wasn't trying to cause any ill will, I was just stating my thoughts and opinions on the subject you were discussing on the message board. I didn't intend it to be negative in any way, I'm just a house dancer who happens to reside in the US, so I'm rather partial to American dancers. But of course I do love dancers from other countries as well; kerry, Kapela, Naim, and Hiro are a few dancers who I truly enjoy watching. Again house dancing is a feeling, I leave the battling to the bboys.
@seymourglass2611 жыл бұрын
You don't have to turn my compliment of two other countries into a pissing contest. Look who wins house and locking contests around the world. I see French and Japanese names easily as often as American, and considering how big we are compared to these countries, I feel it's fine to pay them some respect. Peace.

this younger generation is making all dancing look almost alike after while you won't know one from the other. i like traditional dancing at least you could identify them wish they would just make there mess a new name and leave the old styles alone. This is crap!
