Why knowledge will lose its value.
Hiroshi Tasaka is professor at the Tama University in Tokyo and also founder of SophiaBank, a global network think-tank. In his opinion, the biggest paradox of today's knowledge society is the fact that knowledge will actually lose value and wisdom management will be the really critical issue. In this video interview he explains why companies and organisations must open up to the web 2.0-triggered wisdom of the crowd, suggests to talk about "ego management" instead of human resource management and predicts the end of old-fashioned capitalism as we know it.

there is a difference between wisdom and knowledge. As information is interpreted and refined into "knowledge", more people will indeed "know" more. The egalitarian shift in development will perhaps redefine knowledge to mean not only "what there is", but rather "what can be". thus, "True knowledge" may become even more valuable, and even more potent, because to differentiate and make itself relevant, the knowledge must become more influential to garner enough support to make it stand out.

Wisdom of crowds is a dangerous concept. While the internet leads to more and faster innovations in the scientific and engineering community, it also has the same effect on pseudo-sciences, religious fanaticism and all sorts of manipulation. It's not like a collective mind automatically is going to generate great ideas, it can/will also generate unimaginably stupid ideas.

@@muchiribantu3226 Lol, this seems sadly prophetic now. Strange synchronicity - I'm currently reading Joe Abercrombie fantasy series which I recommend; and the latest novel going to be released is titled "the wisdom of crowds".

@noxure So glad you said that. Too many people seem to have the idea lately, that shared knowledge & ideas are better. I disagree, - too many cooks spoil the broth and how big was the crowd fooled by the kings new clothes?

knowledge is always a spring board for action and goal accomplishment. Every individuals innate human need to gain perspective through unique perception is incorporated in us and that search, along with the will to want to search, will never lose value. Free knowledge is not executive to knowledge presented with wisdom delivered in a succinct way such as from a teacher or learned individual. Quality proprietary knowledge is not going anywhere, so this is a rebel statement he presents. (Comically

@StrikaAmaru Well actually the subject is irrelevant as long as there is enough neuro-diversity in your "crowd". It's not because you are an educated person, or even an expert on a certain subject that you can offer the best solution to a certain problem. A "crowd source" is often more intelligent than the smartest individual in that group. It's what we call a "super-system". The problem is that sometimes it just isn't and then we call it "war", "genocide", "famine", or a "financial crisis".

I find it hard to understand the significance of knowledge if you're not in a field that requires it. For instance, I work for the DNR. I cut trees and mow grass. Of what use is knowledge to me? Yet I cannot help but be attracted by it, especially political philosophy and physics. Though the more I learn, the more alienated I feel. For instance, when I realized I didn't believe in God, and that, in hindsight, I never really did. It was kind of depressing.

@Mysteryskatin You feel alienated because you don't share the same interests as most people in your social environment. That's normal, and it's not your fault. Try to find another social environment. We are social animals, we need people who we can communicate with on the same level.

From the beginning of creation the only thing mans intellect and wisdom has ever accomplished is leading mankind away from the source of life and true wisdom. It is the reliance of man on himself that is shown in this present system of things and it is clearly seen to be evil and only continues to perpetuate this evil. Jesus Christ died so that we can once again come to the Father of all creation and receive His wisdom and His life. Come back to your Maker, learn what true freedom is.
