I didn't know that you're a history teacher, that's super awesome to hear! I hope to follow a similar career path :)

Personally, I don't see the Troublesome Brakevan as rare. That honor goes to the White Face Troublesome Truck. I honestly find it cool that yours can come apart. Now, it's a lot more useful than it would have been in one piece!

I love this troublesome brakevan, it makes it look unique from most (if not) other versions of it. It is a abomination but a cool looking abomination

I like your jab at the 1992 collectors and eBay warlords. No way did Roy Wilson ever think wooden blocks on wheels would ever be worth hundreds of dollars and neither did the parents buying them in the 90s. At the end of the day most collectors actually buy troublesome brakevans for use as props and your broken brakevan means for your content it is a better prop. Your brakevan is as versatile as BoCo from old stuck up

I think LNER Flying Scotsman, Roberto did something like this but I can't remember what the context was. I was able to find a Troublesome brakevan that was $100 and I got it basically for myself as a Christmas gift in 2021. As I was given $300 that year so yeah. Mine has a few scratches as well and I got the brown roof version when I really wanted one with a black roof. But hey I'm happy I have one nonetheless and I will say yours is definitely quite unique. Keep up the good work Matt!

I still don't get why the item is called the troublesome brakevan. It looks like a boxcar/van, not a caboose/brakevan. The spiteful Brakevan, I get because it IS a brakevan, but the troublesome brakevan isn't a brakevan. Other than that, you got an excellent deal and I can't wait to see it in future videos.

But HiroTheJapaneseTrain, (I say, angrily as I am about to write an angry comment below.) that still doesn’t explain why you took *this* Troublesome Breakvan and took it with the same love that the people of France did for their king during the 1790’s.
