Top 10 Best Dragonflight Raid Bosses

As Dragonflight nears its closing it’s time to reflect on its raid boss fights. It was certainly short in some aspects but regardless Blizzard produced some very memorable fights that will be talked about for years after their introduction. In this video we’re going to count down the top ten best bosses from all of Dragonflight. To keep a general understanding of how this list works, we’re going to be factoring in Fun, Difficulty, and how creative the boss mechanics were. We’re also going to consider every fight at Heroic difficulty and not Mythic, as a much larger majority of players experience Heroic and never even step foot in Mythic mode. This list is completely subjective and everyone is entitled to their own opinions and there may be entries you disagree with, which is obviously fine.

@@Awesomebulba hateful strike iirc. He would hit the 2nd highest hp target. So people had to soak in the poison river to reduce their hp. I think that was his mechanic.

@@Frawt That is correct: Patchwer is a single phase fight with next to no mechanics, where is more about do tons of dps. Meanwhile Sludgefist is a 2 phase fight with a "normal phase" and a "high dmg output" phase. My big question tho.. is Sludgefist the 1st boss of its kind for Hiru to refer to this kind of fight as "Sludgefist esque" ? I mean, Spine of Deathwing is much older and more representative of 2 phase fights: normal and burn phases. Hell lots of AQ bosses have similar mechanics, tho not quite exactly the same.

Man, anything on Patchwork era can go beyond Sludgefist type fight. Sludgefist type fight is: very few mechanics but very important ones, usually with high punish for mistakes, and massive tanking, healing and damage check. Nothing in classic has enough mechanics to go beyond that in complexity. Nowadays the easiest of raid bosses has like 2 pages of skills. I have seen random non-elite mobs roaming the world in retail with more complex mechanics than classic's raid bosses.

Smolderon is definitely my favorite healer fight. As a Disc priest, it's so satisfying to ramp right before the heal absorbs and blast so much healing that they all drop very quickly and at the same time.

In my opinion Aberrus was one of the most pug friendly (on heroic difficulty) raid in a while, especially with the nerfs to Zskarn, and the stack and kill fight that was the fire doggo. The last boss was challanging enough, but still easily doable even with a less coordinated group. The individual responsibility could be solved by a few people knowing their job, and the rest of the team just following, so due to that, and the nice and short timer I would agree that it was an enjoyable fight (and also quite satislfying as a healer pumping hard right as the pull started.) Personally mechanically I preferred the previous boss, Echo of Neltharion for some reason, but that's just me. Overall I think we had really decent raids in this expansion. Also shoutout to anyone else who were stuck on Smolderon mythic, I feel your pain and potential PTSD. Still one of my favourite fights.

Not entirely opposed to it given the very consistent content pacing they had in DF. I can live with missing a tier (and blizz getting more money from expac drops) if it means they keep up the content drops every 6-8 weeks, and avoid the droughts we’ve had in past expansions.

If we talking heroic fights then raszageth is easily the best fight of the expansion. Would even go as far as saying she might be the best heroic end boss or even boss of all time. She is just that good on heroic.

From my experience on Larry, people basically ignore adds and ignore the seed, so we wind up wiping because the fire fighters didn't do their job. Plenty of times I've peeled off the boss (as a melee DPS) to click the seed and clear the area/douse the bramble. Hell, from my experience solely in season 3, people think everyone else will do the mechanics and they can pump. Despite their pump putting them in 12th place.

Amalgamation Chamber: We only had the DPS and Healers swap sides, and the tanks got up to like 20ish stacks before combining. Super easy with a warlock gate

I don't think Heroic mode is the way to look at these bosses. Each boss is conceived as a mythic boss, and the "tone down" for lower difficulties. For example Tindral is not the same boss in mythic, it's much interesting. We need a mythic tierlist too 😊

when it comes to first bosses eranog was my favourite.all of the three first bosses are designed in a enjoyable way, but i found gnarlroot to be the weekest. _Kazarra was a very hard hitting boss for a first boss and eranog was the most fun, but i agree, gnarlroots boss fight was not bad at all

Sadly there wasnt a single good raid since Castle Nathria. Still got CE up to Aberrus and only did heroic Amirdrassil once per char, except my main for Axe, which i still dont got...

amal chamber boss wasnt seperated like after week 3 or 4 already even in pugs. The boss is a joke like literally. Either stack them and cleave or just focus on one of those. Ngl Season 1 i got literally bad dreams from Raz.. took me around 250~ pulls in pugs to get her down. Maybe im an masochist but ngl the more i stood in front of her the more i liked that fight but overall her voicelines gave me the deepst brainrot, even having bad dreams with that lines.. especially in german omg. Overall DF had some of the best raidfights. I played healer, DPS and tank, depending on the tier and i had some awesome moments and fun at all. And yes, Rashok was one of my faves besides neltharion in tier2. Magmo was literally the biggest letdown, the biggest joke of an mid boss ive seen so far. My least fave boss was infact Sark. It was mostly way too chaotic and sometimes, depending on DPS even too fast to adapt for quite some players ngl.

Rasza is actually one of my favourite fights next to Diurna (tho I am a tank). Pugging it made miserable, but I think the fight is really good. Simple mechanics that need good execution from everyone, having the dps phase as shield phase made it so you could make tech choiches in the talent tree that you would otherwise never do. Inter 2 was a bit harsh for my taste, but overall the fight felt good to me. I also loved the fact that the fight took over 10 mins so you had choice when you want to bl depending on what your group was having problem with

I honestly dissagre entirely on the shorter figths are more fun take. I DEMAND at least for the final boss of the raid to be long enough to have time to cast two bls. I think is so much cooler when the final fight is a resilence test, it makes so much more epic for me. I want that feeling of "finally..." and not "is that it?". The patch is basically over for me when taking those down so I want them to last. I don't mind having to repeat the whole fight to reach the same point again, is basically a chance for me to actually not only "get a kill" but to nail down the fight entirely, like you learn every little part where you need or don't need cds, when you can squish a bit more of damage or healing, when it is safe to move the boss, try new tactics and talents. I did enjoy Sarka and Fyrakk, they are pretty good. But I did love Rasza way more, it felt as thigh as it could be and superewarding to use absolutely everything in your arsenal.

And the second row is basically a test of coordinated cc, which I honestly thing is kinda cool, although really fucking demanding for the average group of idiots, which the final boss of the raid should be in my oppinion btw.

Subjective opinion: Raszageth should be no 1. One of the best bosses they made. I disagree with the sentiment that end bosses should not be a bit longer and epic, but convenient to farm instead. Where is the climax of the raid/expansion if the end boss is simple and easy? I would get Sarkareth out of the top 10, Neltharion in.

Sludgefist mechanics? If they really wanted us to hate the raids of that expansion they should have made ICC Professor Putricius mechanics, I think only one boss is different from all of them. I think they will need new mechanics for next expansion, isn't bad, the expansion is good, but I think there are more reasons why it was boring.

For me personally as a healer I hate the Sarkareth fight. LFR or normal is a piece of cake but this dispel annoys me so much. Ner'zul was annoying aswell and they brought that mechanic back? Nah. The whole fight is a mess and chaos. Additional to that lorewise he is one of the worst endbosses imo. You kicked his butt in the campaign three times on your own without any help and suddenly he is the big bad? Da fuck? I'd rather fight Sylvannas again then him. Neltharion would have been a more fitting endboss. Just my two cents

Those aren't mutually exclusive things. A boss can have many, fun mechanics. Would rathet constantly be kept on my toes with something to do, than a less interactive boss where you have something every few minutes

@@hitmantyson Of course you are right. It doesn't explain why there are multiple boss mechanics that use a similar color making them hard to see. This doesn't apply to any of these bosses as I didn't watch the whole video. But there's a many that do. And I think that maybe there were too many boss mechanics to make each mechanic a different color. Otherwise each fight would just have you fighting a rainbow.

i have never in my life seen a tier list so wrong and so biased towards healers. fyrakk is nowhere near the #1 spot, and larodar should be bottom 5 for all bosses. also gnarlroot being a first boss in the top 10 over EITHER kazzara or eranogg is just straight up wrong. eranog is a better first boss. kazzarra however is the 2nd best first boss of all time, the first being abyssal commander sivarra from eteral palace. extremely disappointed in this tier list, and i've full cleared all of the raids as all 3 roles.

Sorry, but Dragonflight raids are extreme disappointing to me. The only good and interestant boss fights are Sennarth, Raszageth and Neltharion. All the other bosses are forgetable. Amirdrassil is the most boring raid Blizzard ever made.
