No. This is a video on top 10 brutal deaths. If you want to add sentimentality to the list, there are countless NPCs over the years that take the spot. Hell rhonin sacrificed his life to shield jaina, maraad died without ever meeting his nephew, main timeline guldan was torn apart by demons, staghelm junior was ripped in two in front of his father, malorne got his neck broken by archimonde and he relives this moment countless times while in the emerald nightmare, all the ppl who slowly burned inside teldrassil. Hell every naaru that has ever darkened become so in a slow and tortured manner. John j keeshan thought his company had all died to the orcs and for years he tried to bury the guilt and pain by hunting orcs... Only to be reunited with his pals later ... And then to loose them again...
@Wodferd9 ай бұрын
Unreasonably bothers me whenever I see someone still saying that using magic in a Mak'gora is cheating: it's not. The only things unallowed in a Mak'gora are whatever the fighters agree to ban when they have their fight When Baine and Garrosh fought they agreed on single weapon combat - Garrosh "cheated" because his weapon was poisoned without his knowledge In the movie, Guldan didn't even cheat when he used magic, it was just fel magic and fucked up beyond anything the rest of the orcs had seen and they all had a visceral reaction to it In the Wrath pre-patch when Thrall and Garrosh fight for the first time in Org, Thrall uses magic. No one complained, because it was totally fine for him to do that. Thrall frying Garossh in Nagrand wasn't cheating.
@andrewbusz91069 ай бұрын
I wish people would stop pushing that narrative of Thrall cheating, as well. Thrall uses the same shaman magic, aside from the rock hand, in both mak'goras with Garrosh. Wind and lightning. The only difference is the WoD mak'gora is to the death, so the lightning fries him. Proof that in the modern mak'gora pre-Wrath, Thrall was holding back his abilities to not destroy Garrosh immediately.
@Barsee239 ай бұрын
i think thrall using magic in the first one was just a part of his default attack animations as an npc when he enters combat and was never meant to be a canon part of the story

I am... confused by your description of Theramore. While its founder was technically Kul Tiran, Theramore was _not_ a Kul Tiran state. It was an independent City State founded by Jaina, and _forcibly taken over_ temporarily by her father Daelin. After whose death, rule returned once more to Jaina, who was declared an enemy of Kul Tiras for her part in Daelin's death (that being, for the most part, standing back and doing nothing to stop it, and indeed inviting the Horde in)
@Geraldo_Rivian9 ай бұрын
It was a pseudo kul tiran state, since jaina didn't object the takeover like a ruler should, most of the theramore guard were either kul tiran or softy for daelen's agenda....and also theramore being a port city made it so that it's most powerful assets(fleet) was heavily inspired by kul tiran standards
@moscanaveia9 ай бұрын
The establishment of Theramore is a little muddy as it happens off-screen on WC3, so I'm not sure if it is mentioned elsewhere in the lore. But I always imagined it was a home for ragtag alliance members whom Jaina managed to convince to travel west to Kalimdor due to Medivh's prophecy. I always thought that would include high elves, dwarves and mostly Lordaeron humies
@Blazieth9 ай бұрын
@@Geraldo_RivianJaina didn't openly oppose Daelin's _hostile takeover_ because he was her fucking FATHER and she desperately wanted to find a peaceful solution to the war he was trying to restart. When she couldn't find one... she took the only option left to her to preserve the peace she was fighting for; allow the Horde to kill him. And of course there are similarities to Kul Tiras, its ruler was originally from Kul Tiras. That does not make it a Kul Tiran state. Especially since, as pointed out, there are a lot more than Kul Tiran humans there.

Ysera's death will always bother me for not only how much it hurt her but the execution. She was not a raid boss in the Emerald Nightmare and being killed in a quest is an insult to her importance for me. It also bothers me how Cenarius was able to be redeemed but they felt a need to slay Ysera. Tyrande did this because she wanted to stay true to Elune, but Elune did nothing when the burning of Teldrassil took place except hope the night elven souls would find a home in Ardenweald. Ysera may be back in Ardenweald but even in Dragonflight she is a very minor character, she does nothing with the brief resurrection she was given. I just feel as if she was done dirty and quickly killed off at the beginning of Legion for no reason.

To add to the Madness of Deathwing’s encounter’s brutality, the entire fight is a race to interrupt his cast of Cataclysm, which ends the world and wipes the raid if allowed to complete. How do you stop this cast? By “killing” his tentacles, which severs his limbs and the agony is enough to break his concentration. Not sure if there’s been another example in-game of a boss’s mechanics being based around their own suffering.

The most important fact that separates Krom'gar's actions from Garrosh's is that Theramore, while a city, was a major military hub for the Alliance. Theramore was a major military base for most of the Alliance's incursions into the vastly Horde held regions of Kalimdore. Thal'darah was just a learning center for those wishing to follow the path of the Druids of Azeroth. These situations are the equivalent of the military bombing of Pearl Harbor at the onset of WW II and the destruction of the World Trade Towers on 9/11 respectively.

@@noctusowl would it? The tomb was saturated with fel energy and the demons were pouring into azeroth through the felstorm....I say if they use the mana bomb on the fel storm, the legion forces closest to it would definitely die a permanent death..... As permanent as death can be after shadowlands

i think, Varians death is one of the worst, (not in terms of writting) but in terms of consequences. Varian had been a strong leader of the Alliance, and a strong opponent of the Horde. but during the story, thanks to influence of his son, he ends up being on his way to being similare to Thrall. heck the final battle cry from Varian during the legion cinematic/trailer, he litteraly screams "for Azaroth." her there is a Man, a King, that had realised the situation his world was in, the struggle between the Horde and the Alliance, specialy at this point, is meanigless because there is a greater threat and always will be. one could argue that had Varian not died, BFA or atleast part of it, would not have happende.

How tf are you leaving out the burning of teldrassil???

So Guldan died in the same manner he killed Varian?…. Justiceeeeee! I hate Guldan with passion. Him, Garrosh and Sylvanas are the reasons I hated the Horde. I enjoyed helping the Horde to overthrow Sylvanas in BFA. Only wish we could off with her head in SL. That would make the lacking expansion absolute peak for me - brutal, merciless end for effing c**t & the problems she has caused. Including burning Teldrassil. Tyrande often goes overboard with her rhetorics, but I absolutely support her (& Genn’s) hatred for Sylvanas. It’s well-deserved

Tirion did not have a good death, mediocre at best, that was the guy who shattered frostmourne and then died to a lesser demon...

The Scourge borrowed it's power from the legion, so second hand magic. Fel grounds are far more resistant to light than are shadow grounds.
@plamenstoyanoff70559 ай бұрын
@@noctusowl that is wrong as the scourge is actually a result of Death magic and not Fel , dreadlords installing the lich king does not mean it was infused by Fel
