I also think Blanchy deserves an honourable mention. Waiting for it to spawn, stopping it in its tracks so you can interact with it, and then bringing specific items from all over shadowlands back to Blanchy in a set order over the course of multiple encounters to get the mount.

But it's not that unique. You just need to do it once a day for a week and give it some stuff. We already had similair mounts with this method, just like the uldum alpaca or maelie in korthia . The only thing that is actually unique is that Blanchy needs more unique things.

@@Unleash_HP blanchy can outrun mounts so you have to be 100% sure of it's spawn time, you also have 5 minutes to interact with it. I will say that the Alpaca is more unique in the sense that it has multiple spawn points iirc

4:53 I don't know if you know it or forgot to mention it but after you heal the mother you also can speak with avianna (when you mount one of those mounts) and she unlocks you a hidden rep for getting another mount (a pvp rep that doesn't count in the meta rep achievement but still a rep).

Lucid Nightmare was literally a nightmare. I was in the Mugu maze for 7 hours straight before I finished it.

In all seriousness though, first attempt took me a lot of time to find each pair, until I realized I should have just taken notice of the location of orbs and runes and use them to mark my way around. Second attempt went great, but forgot about server reset... Third attempt was great though. One of my favorite mounts

The long forgotten Hippogryph was extremely frustrating for me. I had another player beat me to it when I was on 3 crystals looking for my fourth, twice. Then I had 4/5 crystals and D/C'ed three times... at least once right as I found the fifth crystal. Finally managed to find a night when no one else was in the zone and got all five crystals without anything ruining the run! Twas a moment of pure joy!

i Remember getting all the Falcosaur mounts in one day because i noticed you could keep doing the next daily avaiable on a different toon since they weren't account locked was epic and i got all the baby Direbeaks to lv 25 with Epic battle stones as well was awesome.

The Falcosaur quest is actually pretty similar to the Winterspring Cub/Ravasaur quest chain in classic wow (only the quest-giver is stationary) where you need to raise the baby under a sequence of quests every day for 20 days.

I finished the maze for lucid but was not aware you had to go back to the other room and pick up the note. So I hearthed out and realized I had to do it all over again.... I went back and 3 hours later I finally got the orbs done. It is still my favorite mount for my shadow priest to this day. 😂

Got the Silverwind Larion only a week or so into the expansion, most locations were pretty easy but some required a bit more finesse and/or creativity which was cool. Mount looks great as well, used it for quite a while.

The Long Forgotten Hippogryph is one of my favorite mounts. I was just questing in Legion and came across two crystals naturally, so I looked it up and found out what they were and then had to run around checking all the spawns to find the last 3, but it was very memorable for me to just stumble upon.

I almost lost my mind on the maze part of the lucid nightmare I did it together with my dad so it wouldn't get too boring walking around in a maze and in the end, I needed 2 hours for the maze alone and he was 30 minutes faster

Watching this after I finally hunkered down and RNG'd my way through the Lucid Nightmare maze. Actually wasn't as bad as I thought, only took me around 2 hours. I was trying to map it out for a good bit before eventually giving up on that, but pieces of the map did save me some time at the end.

The maze mount in Ardenweld deserve a mention. while it is not hard, the color scheme of the zone makes it hard to see the lamp and can take a few tries to get it.

That charger in the maw imho is unique. Outruns all mounts, runs across the entire zone, hits like a truck, requires the generosity and cooperation of other players in the maw, etc.

I think the spellbound tome deserves a mention, considering you have to do a solo challenge on for each encounter and have to do every position like Dps, Healer, Tank depending on the challenge or class.

Hey Hiru, appreciate and enjoy everything you and your team does on this channel. Something's buggin me though... There's a ton of videos on topics like this and no one ever mentions the Vial of the Sands recipe. A lot of people just attribute the mount to an auction house grab. However, the recipe is the most frustrating concept I have ever grinded out. I'm talking about it in Cata, where you can only get the recipe as an alchemist, only from tol vir digs, only from jar solves. Not that I need to tell you, but you HAD to get Tol vir dig sites. These were RNG that you had to get lucky that one spawned on the continent. If not then you had to solve the closest site then HOPE the next one was tolvir. If it was then you had to have enough fragments for a solve. If you ended up getting a rare that was 180 fragments. That ate up your dig sites. Then...if you got lucky... You might get a jar. Then if you got it then you had to have the recipe drop in that jar. If not, START OVER FOR DIG SITES. A couple of people on a discord took average wowhead, forum posts and the like and it would take an average of 23 to 28 jar solves to get the recipe to drop. If you got it outside that window then you were extremely unlucky. There's a guy on wowhead claiming he has 500 jar solves and no recipe yet with a confirmation from Blizz that his account isn't bugged. So that's RNG, on RNG, on RNG. That's during Cata of course, it got easier with the Mantid trick in MoP. Curious on your thoughts on this? On mobile, sorry for the typos.

Got the Predatory Bloodgazer, Lucid Nightmare and Hivemind from the list - I absolutely loved all the associated quests and secrets to get each, but I'd say my favorite by far was the Lucid Nightmare one, I remember I spent 5h inside that maze while my guild partners were waiting for me to go do some mythic dungeons together lmao

5:45 that thing does refresh after two weeks and allows you to access Eye Of Azshara zone worldquests. I remember that time when I completed it during Emerald Nightmare's release and the mobs there were so strong. (Plus I did not have flight) Boss looks like Kosumoth The Hungering from Dragon Soul raid and I think that elite using some "shaved off" voicelines from the original boss.

For the murloco item, I found it when I was on my Main with warmode OFF then hearthed, went to SW and then put warmode ON and went back to Naz'jatar and he was there. ( Also, the item is unique so you can only carry one, but it is an ingredient for other items, so I bought one, sold it and bought another. Got the mount and then repurchased the one I sold earlier )

Worst part on Phanthom Dweller was that the WQ has 50% chance to go on either reward at every 2 week reset. Making it that in EU there was no mount reward avaible for 6 months or so back in Legion.

The Hivemind had a peculiar glitch to obtain. You had to get into a dungeon where you could find the mount, but rather than going through the whole ordeal, you could jump out of the dungeon’s path into the water, swim ashore near a mountain peak, and simply cross a bridge directly into the mount. It’s as easy as it sounds and I doubt they ever patched it. Glad I didn’t get banned or had the mount taken for doing this glitch, though it was unheard of at a time and came across a group that knew about it and carry me into victory.

So...I've done Lucid Nightmare yesterday...since the addon that helps you with it is broken, I've done it without any notes or anything. If you're going to do the same, be prepared to take some real sanity damage. Took me almost 4 hours just running around the Endless Halls.

I was very lucky for the long-forgotten hippogryph. It was on reset day, and I decided of all rares to go for that one. I found the list of potential spawn points for the crystals on wowhead and threw them into tomtom. I just made a sort of google maps for how to get from one point to another and managed to find a crystal on like my 30th location. I knew I was onto something. A few crystals later I noticed someone else searching spots that I had checked, so I tried to rush through them. I managed to find all 5 before the other person luckily and scored the mount. I did this on a relatively populated server so your chances might be better if you do it on low pop.

I think you mean WOD zones, but true it is rather odd, it is not exactly unique, as the camel in uldum works the same, however with camel statues, and also of course various other rare world mounts like the timelost protodrake.

I remember placing one alt in every WoD zone at a portal spawn for server reboots EVERY week (since the portal is a guaranteed spawn whenever the server restarts) but since it despawns after 5 minutes or something I still don't have it 😭

Griftah sells the Amulet of the True Treasure Tracking in the Port of Zandalar, right next to the flight master. I think there was a small quest together him there.Not sure where he is in Kul Tiras, but I know he is there as well. I am not even sure that the version he sells in Shattrath is the same one and works correctly with the puzzle, but it could be.

The falcosaur mounts remind me of the old Un'Goro raptor mount that you got from a quest chain. You had to raise the raptor from just-hatched to fully grown (in what I think was ~20 days). Maybe it's a nod to it?

@@darwinxavier3516 they are still incredibly similiar, both involve getting a pet, raising it through dailies until it turns into a mount, saying they arent similiar because one involves pet battles and the other dont is like saying "this quest to kill 5 turtles isnt at all similar to that quest to kill 6 bears" they are so similiar that i dont think anyone could dispute that the falcosaur mounts where directly inspired by the ungoro and winterspring mounts, and i think they deserved a spot on the list because they were the first unique mounts in the game in that regard, everything before that was either bought from a vendor or a drop of some kind (if we exclude the class mounts)

@@vhaelen326 I don't think you grasp how big a difference requiring pet battles and raid kills actually is. If you didn't already pet battle a lot at the time, then it would've taken you a while to prepare for that step. The tiger and raptor are easy by comparison. Plus then you'd also have to mention the Aqir wasp you got in Uldum, and the green direhorn in Zuldazar. The list was about the MOST unique methods, not who did it first.

We try to do a mix of either having the thumbnail be related to something on the list either directly, or Indirectly. Sometimes it is nice to show something "hinting" at something in the video. While other times we like to throw something that is not even on the list in, cause if we always include something from the list in the thumbnail, then people will be able to know just by the thumbnail all the time what is in. We want it to be a surprise.
