368 could be like a 24 hour MTV video where you would see content you would not otherwise see, but you would watch because it had been selected by 368, and then you could link over to their channel. Maybe we could be 368 members for dollars per month and then our money would be transfered to small creators based on links or likes from the main 368 "magazine".

I kinda randomly was introduced to your channel, Casey, and your talent for narrative has been a similar experience. Seeing you two meet is like two universes colliding and creating a big bang... at least to me. I am crazy excited to see what this BANG produces. The energy is amazing! GO GO GO!
@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian6 жыл бұрын
Dear Casey, I'm on a mission of change. It is a simple mission. It is a noble mission. It is a mission for which I need no reward. My mission is simply this: To convince you to have real word-for-word English closed captioning / subtitles created for every 368 video. Not auto generated subtitles. Not some AI that thinks it knows what you are saying, but REAL every-word-you-say-transcribed-and-made-into-subtitles-and-added-to-every-video. Why? Because there are people around the world learning English. There are people around the world who rely on KZbin channels to help them with their English. Believe it or not, without even intending it, you are one of those channels. Just look at your analytics, you probably have people from all over the world watching your channel, and for people who learn languages, there is nothing like Real Life People making videos with Real Word for Word Subtitles to help them fine tune their English. You can do this. You can help millions. I know you can, and I don't think it is even that expensive to have the subtitles made. P.S. I'm going to write something like this on every 368 video until it happens. I know it will, and then I'll dance, and I'll send you a video of me dancing, which will be a weird video because I'm old, and it will just be a video of an old guy dancing, but he will be happy. Have a great day! -Bob

Patreon is amazing! Jack and team run an incredible platform that is the first of what I believe is a new era for creators. Large corporate interests like KZbin are no longer a pathway for small creators to achieve real success.. KZbin is all about censorship and punishing small creators. I am so incredibly excited to see Casey and Jack working together on these ideas. This could enable millions of people to spend more time and effort doing what they are passionate about rather than grind their lives away behind a counter. Keep fighting the good fight guys... I will donate to and support what you guys create here. This really could be big for many people. Patreon has already helped so many creators.. can't wait to see what's next.

He was talking about record labels. They would find someone back in the day and produce ($$$). I’m guessing it’s something more like 368 being an MCN partnered with Patreon. Casey doesn’t want to be a boss so if it’s a group of more autonomous creators that can draw on each other on the fly then that would probably fit Casey’s goal. I’m thinking something like Star Trek. They are bank rolled by Earth/ etc (patreon) to go on this voyage and they are given a ship (368).

He created an easy way to connect creative people with their supporters, so they can keep doing what they love to do. Obviously, anyone can gift money to others via Facebook messenger, Pay Pal, Cash app, etc. The difference is that Patreon makes it easier for people to support creators on an ongoing basis, through a subscription type model. I don't personally use Patreon at this moment, but for some people it's a great way to supplement their ad money from google. You really can't expect a company to design the platform and handle all those transactions, without taking a cut.

That's the thing with calendars. The more you have commitments and the more you have things scheduled, the less motivated to do things you will be. So you'll only do those things that you have to. When you have one thing planned next week on Friday, but nothing else in between, it's a lot easier to be spontaneous and to take opportunities on the fly when you feel like it.

I always found patreon was a weirdo thing. i get weird vibes from him since I saw his "skrillex copycat music" videoclip full of automated robots. he's pretty inventive but "media label" is kind of a low hanging fruit option for them 2. they should be taking the opportunity KZbin is leaving open right now for a new video platform to emerge that's focused 100% on creators and no frigging algorithm bs and no changing policies to suck advertisers dck and please wall street and political correctness and no leftist media machines.

Casey is motivated differently then most people. Yes he goes after the money but also how he can help the largest number of people become successful.

no offense but i'm very sad if that's what they do.. "old-school media label" is basically establishment we hated for decades. they were big towers of pigs in suits screwing artists big time and making manufactured painted by numbers music. they could instead build the next youtube built for creators instead of built for advertisers. meaning subscribers receive notifications when they are subscribed. no "ring the bell" bullsht. no frigging algorithm changing every month and frickin up everybody's livelyhood. as long as it's an search-engine-friendly platform with a relatively good basic search function. i know video hosting and bandwidth is very costly. but microsoft would probably buy it if casey want out, if not then apple or amazon or a mobile carrier

To play devil's advocate, that letter sounds like someone who is sooo important now he forgot how it was people who took time to chat and share that helped them take their first steps toward being the success they have today. Doesn't fit the "stay humble" ethos.

Sometimes keeping your success means not becoming like the people that helped you get there. Often times it's not successful people that boost you up. It's often "someone that knows someone" i.e people in the sphere of influence of other successful people. We have creators and we have managers, it's the managers that tend to give you opportunities as they know how to talk to creators and match the right people together.

And your reply makes you sound like someone who is so jealous of his success you'll paint him as the bad guy in this. You have no idea what it's like to become famous enough for EVERYONE out there that wants to succeed wanting a piece of you. Showing up at doorstep saying they have a GREAT idea. I know, yours is better than anyone elses... Hopefully you will succeed enough to discover what he's learned yourself.
