You came with the right question, what category is Dan Da Dan?, the most accepted answer is… this a Romance disguised as Shonen, but it has soo many genres involved that trying to fit into an single concept is unfair, there is enough material out there already for many anime seasons. It does not slow down on the craziness, unpredictability and wholesomeness, while we have only seen the tip of the iceberg of the major plot, and, Oh my!, the possibilities are endless and it could become on one of the most loved stories of all time, (I hate when people do these kind of statements but this is the first time I see something this unique, on story telling, visuals, dialogue, entertainment and overall ENJOYMENT).

With being up to date with the anime I'm almost 100% confident when I call Dandadan a romance Skinwalker that just happens to be prefer Shonens skin.

I love how Dandadan turns normal shonen tropes on its head. Normally the male lead gets all the cool powers and fights while the female lead cheers him on from the sidelines, but here Momo is just as - if not more - of an active participant as Okarun. It's really interesting to see a show where it's the girl who takes charge to win the fight.

I went into Dandadan totally clueless without having any knowledge of it and expecting a normal shonen anime. Boy was I wrong 😂 Also the names for the voice actors you're looking for are AJ Beckles(Okarun) and Abby Trott(Momo)

This is a shonen because it's published in a shonen magazine (just means it's aimed at teen boys), but the genre is a pretty even split between action and romcom, with a little horror, a little mystery, a little slice-of-life, and a little horror thrown in there. Also, there's 170 chapters of the manga. You absolutely can be spoiled on this and should exercise a standard amount of caution when interacting with comments.

I feel should address this I can't deny that the drip of Okarun's Yokai Form is immaculate despite the personality change you can almost never go wrong with becoming an super human monster unless those cursed super powers are in exchange for your meat and the draw back is the Human body can't handle the strain of using them that's trash Turbo Granny Powers suck then of course you have the fact that in this episode they have to fight an Alien Flatwoods Monster Sumo Wrestler that's powered by occult belief this is just straight up Anime Regular Show.
