@@zero2senpai578 it's more Betrayal than fear. It was fear at first, then betrayal after she looked at Brunhilde. Jack's emotions at base seems to be betrayal, so the Volund was able to happen.

Fact: For them to synchronize, they have to share the same emotions, leading to jack forcefully making her feel betrayed. Hlokk felt betrayed when Brunhilde watches as she pleads for help.... Jack felt betrayed when he realized that his mother's love was never towards him. She was only using him.😉

I think for the Volund their hearts have to be one and Hlökk was made to feel the only thing Jack has known his whole life, betrayal.

Yep, i Just wanted to say it, it is most likely cause Brunhilde was there, and it would be perfect, i am sure the valkyries all trust Brunhilde compleatly, and she would be sure Brunhilde would help her if she asked for help, but surprise surprise, when he has her by the neck, and she Looks at Brun for help what does she see? Her beeing totally ignorant And letting it Happen, so the only 2 emotions that make sense are betrayal and fear, maybe sadness as well, so all of those what Jack was practicly the embodiment of in his backstory. Otherewise the volundr could not have happened, if both heart would not be able to sync together. Quiet a genious play by Brunhilde imo, even if really creepy and disturbing

I think it wasn't really a forced volundr, I think that they were able to volund because Hlökk (Jack's valkyrie), felt abandoned by her sister (Brunhilde), and since Jack was also abandoned by his mom,they were able to volund. It could also be a forced volund but this is just my theory

Was forced but not completely black and white.. i do see op's point of both being betrayed, also he matched her color to his forcibly as he said.. plus valkyrie understands he not as bad as he seems hence why 1) doesn't seem she ever attempted to undo after 2) she actually tells him to go heal up after showing some degree of care 3) there is a side manga with more backstory showing he not exactly a monster

Jack's story is pretty sad to be honest he only saw the evil of humanity with the only good coming from his mother the very person who betrays him in the end It's pretty tragic

Brunhilde surely be on the last fight. Atm in the manga there's a lot of fighters we.already seen haven't fight like Loki. The most surprising part for me will be the Volündr(divine weapon) and how he obtained it.

Adam wasn't as resourceful as Jack. Adam was a reflection of the gods. Jack is representative of the "endless malice of humanity that can swallow divinity whole". Also, it's meta, but in the "eyes" of a killer, "anything he can touch" is a "weapon". Again, only humane compassion can redeem evil.

Imo the only reason that the volundr worked was because they have similar experiences (Jack betrayed by his mother and Hlökk being betrayed by Brunhilde) but besides that, you can’t deny he literally forced her into it, and u can’t tell me otherwise since she literally said multiple times that she didn’t want to do it.

I felt conflicted watching this fight, on one hand I had to root for the humans because... I'M HUMAN! But Jack did such horrible things, but at the same time you could feel his tragedy. What sold me for being on his side was the end... (and that amazing spin off manga I love it)

Today the episode didn't have many errors in translation, everything was transmited pretty well from the manga, but I'm here to give you some context none the less: The color Jack sees as the most beautiful in the world is the fear everyone get at their last moments. He thinks it'll be like that with Hercules because no matter who you are, before you die the split second where your life leaves your body is the moment this color manifests, an inevitable fear of the end while at the end. Hlokk really couldn't make Volund with Jack, and he couldn't force it, that's why Brunhilde was there, she knows Jack's heart and know the only way Volund can happen is if their hearts are connected, so in the manga he says "Don't worry, I'll just have our hearts become one" and some people thought he simulated the feeling, but no, it is because they experienced the same pain, the pain of seeing the one you love most betraying you to your face. Their Volund is Shared Pain. Also Hercules said "You planned this for the start" and that's a bit sad, because in the Manga it specifies that Hercules is not just a battle expert, but figured out the moment his arm went flying, even before Loki (who btw has been tricked twice by Jack's manipulations), that the Volund were the gloves. He's actually very smart, and recognizes Jack as a threat, he's using Herculean Exodus so much because he feels that the longer he allows Jack to live the harder it is to win. So he's trying to end it as quick as possible and failing.

As someone bilingual, I found the English dub really terrible, the voices lacked English emotion and substance, Jack's voice is so forced with the English accent, unlike the Spanish dub. It's okay that you want to see it dubbed, but it's the best animated fight and it really made me sad that you decided to see it in English, well, there's no other way but Jack's voice in English is horrible
