An incredibly underrated and overlooked British Band of the 80's. Rolands voice along with music that's hard not to want to jig along with earned them hit after hit on the UK charts. Their song GOOD THING is a must-react-to. It draws straight from 1960s R&B. It’s got a beat that will immediately make you think of bands like The Supremes and The Four Tops. A bit of history: both She Drives Me Crazy and Good Thing went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band had never had major success in the USA before, She Drives Me Crazy came out of NOWHERE. I remember the very first time I heard She Drives Me Crazy, just like it was yesterday. I remember staring at my radio asking myself what the hell is this and OMG it’s amazing!

A very INXS sound... Still LOVING this song 34+ years later... I also love that you can interject any color of hair and the song still works... 80's HITS... 1. "Tarzan Boy" by Baltimora 2. "One Night in Bangkok" by Murray Head 3. "Rock Me Amedeus" by Falco 4. "99 Luft Ballons (German) or 99 Red Ballons (English)" by Nena (female lead singer/Friday). I honestly feel the German version truly conveys the meaning/feeling of the song far better that the "bubblegum" feeling of the English version. The song is about a phrase of the balloons going up as the start of World War III. Living less than 150 km's from the East German border in 1983 (when this song was released) also tugs at my heart about just how close the world came to the END that fall...AND 5. "Always On My Mind" by the Pet Shop Boys. Easily on par with the Elvis version...

I was probably 17 or 18 when this song came out. Absolutely love it. Great vocals!.

Good grief! Loved the song but I'd forgotten how uniquely handsome the singer was. Another commentor verified that I thought he'd gone into acting as well.

You might not see this but i love the fact that you guys are on a true musical journey. Its not.like your just fans of one genre that are checking out just one other genre. You guys are checking out just about everything and that's what makes this truly appealing. Music is a broad and varied thing that offers beauty and depths in we would have never imagined. So awesome to follow this journey. Enjoy the joy, the sadness, the excitement, the ride! It truly is the best journey ever!

My 7th grade teacher would sometimes gives us popular songs to sing, and I'll never forget the day we got this one. She gave us lyrics that left the 'OhhOhh' out (I think she hated it), but the whole class insisted on adding it. She made us start over at least five times before throwing up her hands and walking out in disgust. Pretty sure we kept singing.

It totally shook Jordan. He sat there with his jaw dropped the whole time with a "WTF" look on his face.

I think Jordan needs to give the B-52's another shot. I'd go Private Idaho. But another edgy one to make him question our recommendations would be Planet Claire.

@@patcon314 I remember. There is one even weirder video of them performing that song than the one he probably watched. (I'm pretty sure he saw the one everyone reacts to, but I don't remember right now)

Man... listening to this takes me back to the early 90s. Can totally remember hearing this on the school bus. Sinead, Terrence D'Arby. Milli Vanilli, MC Hammer, Violent Femmes, NIN etc.

Too few people have seen “Tin Men.” Dreyfuss, DeVito, and all the side characters - John Mahoney, Bruno Kirby, Jackie Gail,…. Hilarious!

Everyone overlooks their first single, Johnny Come Home. Came out in 1985, was a big hit in the UK and on the US Dance chart. Give it a look/listen.

One of my favorite songs. Reminds me of a girl I knew in the late 90's. "Good Thing" is also a catchy tune.

FYC is a British Pop-Rock Band. And I agree with others, "Good Thing", "Suspicious Minds" (always loved that song when Elvis sang it) and "I'm Not The Man I Used To Be" are great to listen to.

Rock Lobster along with Paul McCartney’s ‘Coming Up’ are the two songs that encouraged John Lennon to get back into making music after his 5 years spent raising his second son Sean and essentially being a househusband whilst Yoko Ono tended to all the business You should check out Paul McCartney’s ‘Coming Up’ from his 1980 album ‘McCartney II’ as well as John Lennon’s ‘Just Like Starting Over’ which is a track from his last album he released before his death called ‘Double Fantasy’ the album is half John Lennon songs and half Yoko Ono songs and was also released in 1980

This song was such a big hit. And that’s not always a good thing. I felt like they kind of turned his voice into a gimmick. He was so good and love London beat. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a great song. But I just feel like it kind of put him in a box.

One thing about all the 80s pop music is that it was the era of MTV so all these groups would make as wild and wierd videos as they could , because music videos were brand new and the coolest thing!! LoL .. and kind of strange too.. but fun to dance to..LoL ..
