To this day, i still have a CD Maxi Single of Crazy. It's my favorite song by Seal. In 2005, i worked at a record store in a celebrity heavy part of Los Angeles. Seal came into the DVD department looking for movie recommendations for he and his then wife Heidi Klum and family to watch for movie night. He was such a genuinely KIND, engaging, and vested person to interact with. He took every movie i recommended to him with genuine interest, and even gave me a lite neck massage because he saw i was having a long day. In person, Seal is a TALL/LARGE man. Like a professional athlete. A really cool experience. Super talented, and super cool to deal with.

This was Seal's first single released in 1991, and he wrote the lyrics. This was the about the fall of the Berlin Wall. This song has amazing keyboards throughout and the wah wah petal guitar is played by Kenji Suzuki from Simply Red. This was massive when it came out in the UK. It's hard to describe how groundbreaking this was now that we take dance-pop as a thing that's normal. Tapping into the dance vibe of Adamski's Killer (featuring Seal), Seal moved on to his own release that broke new ground with a soulful futuristic vibe that's definitely on the brink of being straight up Balearic house with its laid-back smooth arpeggiators and piano chords. The structure is also very unique in my view, sounding to be off from the usual 4,, 8, 16 bar kick-ins to get re-entry into the hooks and chorus, which is probably what was keeping it intriguing, unpredictable and sounding fresh to this day.
@Shrykespeare Жыл бұрын
Love Seal. The man's voice is DIVINE. For further suggestions, I suggest "Love's DIvine" (pun intended), "Get It Together", "Newborn Friend", and perhaps the funkiest song in his discographry, "Killer". Also.... you've done "Crazy" by Seal, "Crazy" by Aerosmith, and "Crazy" by Patsy Cline... might I suggest "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley? P.S. One of my favorite stories that he related during an interview was one time, when he was touring, he was walking down a hotel corridor toward his room, and he passed a door through which her heard someone playing one if his songs. So he knocked on the door, and when a woman answered, he just started singing right where the song was. Her husband, who was in the bathroom, asked, "Who is it, honey?" and she said, "It's Seal!", and he said, "I know, I can hear him!" So awesome.

As Amber says at @5:00, the vibe is huge. Fun fact, along with Seal's voice (which is fantastic) this is due largely to the fact that the album was produced by the great Trevor Horn (who was the singer for Buggles - "Video Killed The Radio Star"). He produced SO many great albums in the 80's and 90's. Horn is known as "The man who invented the 80's" and there's a good case for that argument. Horn is Seal's music director for his upcoming tour and the Buggles are going to open the show.

Fantastic song from Seal. His music has always been very different, but very intriguing. Okay, now you *have* to react to Seal and - wait for it - Joni Mitchell. _If I Could_ was a duet they sang on Seal's "Seal" 1994 album. Seal has always contended Mitchell heavily influenced his musical career. Mitchell later returned the favour and had him join her on her remake of _How Do You Stop_ (on her Grammy Award-winning "Turbulent Indigo" album from 1994).
