Hello and congratulations for the video🔥I wanted to ask if you can help me understand if it is really an ultra short throw projector even if the data sheet says it can do from 80 to 130 inches, if I can bring the projector closer to the wall I can reduce the picture let's say 65 inch? Let's assume we succeed, so could the focus still be done? Because I already own a 65 inch screen and the distance from the sofa to the screen is just the right size for me, but I can't find anywhere if these projectors still manage to project smaller images by moving the projector a few inches closer to the wall. Thank you and I hope you will answer me.

If you go smaller or larger than the supported image size, focus will certainly suffer.

@@ProjectorScreen so it’s not a lazer short throw ? And do u know when it’s coming out ? Thanks
@ProjectorScreen3 жыл бұрын
@@danielleitzke8018 Yes, it will be a laser UST projector. Most companies make their UST projectors variable focus so that you can have a range of image sizes; Hisense has opted to make theirs fixed-focus so they only are set to work with the screen size that Hisense bundles. That supposedly is changing with the L9, as I a have been suggesting to them for the past several years as their previous models were also fixed focus.

@ProjectorScreen Жыл бұрын
I am not sure what you mean by showing in half screen. Are you referring to 2.35:1 content (movies) having the black bars on top/bottom? That will happen with any 2.35:1 content being shown on a 16:9 proejctor/screen.

I wanted to get your opinion about which projector i should get. I’ve been doing a lot of research I narrowed it down to two projectors in my price range. I am torn picking between The XGIMI Aurora 4K Ultra Short laser projector, The VAVA 4K Ultra Short Throw Laser TV or The Hisense 100 L5F laser TV. I would like to get your Professional expertise on Which projector I should lean more towards

please do a shot out between a 0.47“ chip UST projector vs a 0.66“ one (eg SP-LSP9T). I am using a 0.47“ one and wonder if it is worth the premium to upgrade to the LSP9T. what I am after is better contrast/black level, as my current projector's black looks grey (eg the bottom black bar in any movie). Thanks

Hello can you do a review on the Bomaker Polaris 4k laser TV, thanks,trying to narrow down the right UST projector
@pg57973 жыл бұрын
Looks to me Vava calibrated their devises for showrooms. I would suggest you calibrate both on color accuracy before comparing them. I have a feeling the out of the box calibration is screwing Vava contrast ratio. Beside calibrating is now fast and free, just use an AppleTV 4K with lasted update and an iPhone, it takes about 15 seconds.

Thanks for the feedback! We did all of the initial videos as out-of-the-box but do plan on doing some more in depth, calibrated reviews and comparisons as well.

I would love to see a shootout of the Hisense 120L5fBLD vs Optoma P2 and see how the images look side by side like that, and if the native 4K resolution of the Optoma makes a huge difference. From all your other shootouts it appears the these two projectors hold the focus the best, from what I heard and would like to see which one is really better in contrast, vibrant colors and sharpness. There are a ton of people on AVSForum claiming the Hisense is brighter than even the Samsung lsp9t even thought its not rated that way, so would like to see how it stacks up to the Optoma P2.

I really appreciate the level of side by side you went through in this review, i'm it was a lot of work. I know that many people aren't going to calibrate and just use out of the box modes but i think it's unfair to each projector to not attempt to do a basic calibration. Also, this isn't just for your review but for many people who are reviewing these projectors, i'm personally frustrated that i haven't been able to find black level testing between UST brands and/or even comparing a UST to a decent quality long throw; it's honestly baffling to me.
@ProjectorScreen3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback Jim! We actually took some sequential contrast measurements of these projectors and put them in the spec chart at the end of each video. This is take from full white/full black (as opposed to ansi contrast) so basic calibration would not have affected it. Perhaps we will include the black level reading by itself for future content, but that affected by the ALR screen surface we use, whereas sequential contrast (how it relates to full white) ratio will be the same regardless of surface since both the black and the white levels are brought down equally on the grey base material.

Hisense just got the L9 series, Im curious to see if three color laser is batter or not.
@ProjectorScreen3 жыл бұрын
The L9 is their triple laser unit. It is not expected to start shipping here in the USA for another couple months, but I was told by Hisense that I will get my review unit early. That all being said, I would expect it to outperform the 100l5f in every way due to the triple laser (and increased price tag)

Vava has 3D! If you’ve never seen 3D on DLP then you’ve never really experienced good 3D. Active DLP 3D is sooo much better than the passive 3D used in theaters. It’s a shame that it’s starting to die out in the projector world.
@davepeterschmidt58183 жыл бұрын
Loved the picture comparison techniques in here. Awesome! That said, I don't think these two projectors are all that comparable given the rather large price difference. It's not surprising to me that the Hisense would throw a superior image, being more than $1k greater for even the 100 inch version and close to double the price for a 120 inch version. While the Hisense clearly is the better projector here, I don't see how the Vava isn't a significantly better value per dollar.

When you factor in the cost of the screen, the Hisense still wins from a value perspective.

the vava seems to be a little bit washed out (probably because some ambient light) plus the fact that I couldn't get to see more than 720p, maybe someone is trying to put Hisense in a better perspective
@erzhu4193 жыл бұрын
Never. L9 is everywhere in China. No salesman will shut the ambient light for you to let you see the best picture from it. So L9 is so dim, in my opinion. Three colors laser will extend the gamut to BT2020. BUT, what you want to see is the picture from UST could as close as the picture from your eyes. Res 709 is enough for it. And that's why the lamp is still the best choice for those high-end projectors under color gamut Res709 cause the lamp is the most sun-like source. Laser, even triple lasers, do have more color than a lamp or single laser engine. But most of the extension part on gamut is invisible for human eyes. The benefit of triple lasers just exists on paper, not in your vision.

These dark screens ruin completely white levels
@ProjectorScreen3 жыл бұрын
Since these projectors are intended as "tv replacements" an ambient light rejecting (ALR) screen is essential for viewing in moderate to well lit environments. They do bring down the white levels but also bring down the floor for darker blacks. If you intend on using these in a dedicated, dark room and ALR screen is not necessary, but we would still suggest a lower gain screen (which often is a grey base) to prevent hotspotting.
