Just bought the 55” QM7 through a nice little sale from Best Buy’s website awaiting delivery. Did my due diligence researching all of the specs and it offers everything to the exact of what I was looking for. High frame rate optimization, multiple HDMI 2.1 ports, usb 3.0, all of the appropriate audio outlets, etc. I’ve seen the Hisense visuals on numerous models and I get it, it’s a nice brand. But, when I look at the two side by side in this video, there’s just an extra vibrance to the coloring among the TCL that I just so happen to like a lot more. It’s a brand that’s been in my household for a while, so the trust is there. Regardless, I don’t think you can go wrong either way with the Hisense or TCL. Just happily confident with my purchase as I look forward to upgrading my entertainment setup when it arrives at my front doorstep

I have learned a lot watching them and now have to pull the string on one of these 2 styles in 65". the issue is I own a 46" Mitsubishi LT-46249 Diamond series HDTV with 18 built in Unisen speakers and external subwoofer. The picture and sound are both amazing. I had the 55" QM7 for a couple months before I knocked it over and cracked the screen last week...FOR ME, out of the box calibration was good, just a few minor tweaks with brightness levels and what you were watching...viewing angles were great, gaming was great, movies were great, although Cobra Kai did stay in Dolby Vision so colors were not that great. Watching the Olympics, preseason and baseball was great. I bought this TV at 499, I would not buy this at regular price of 799...so get this on sale...For me it's the good viewing angles, compared to the Hisense...

As of this comment (02NOV2024), the 55" TCL QM7 can be bought for 499 USD from Amazon and Best Buy, while The 65" model is 999 USD. The Hisense U7 55" is about 650 USD from Amazon and Best Buy, while the 65" is unavailable from Amazon but is 699 USD from Best Buy. With that being said, not sure what prices we'll see in the next couple of weeks or what availability there will be on these TVs. If you're in the same boat as me tracking prices every day on the TCL and Hisense models and can't justify going too much above $500 for a TV, try having an open mind with the 55" models. Ive heard hisense has QC reliability issues, and the viewing angle too isn't that good. The TCLs colour accuracy is a bummer. Others have reported that it has good colours. Kind of ties it for both imo.

As of now the Hisense it still $250-300 more than the TCL. Would say the Hisense is $250-300 better? Im on a budget and need to buy a TV for my mom and she just watches the news and sitcoms. She's 80, so she's not playing games or watching movies. I don't mind spending a bit extra if the features are worth it, but both TCL and Hisense are not higher end brands so I can't tell if the extra money is worth it. I already have an LG CX OLED in the living room for gaming and movies.

Rtings gave the QM7 a terrible color accuracy score. Your video shows that with the overly red picture.

8.6 for TCL vs 8.5 for Hisense isn't that bad 🙃
@joelf5565Ай бұрын
Hisense looks a little washed out. I do like the TCL contrast better, but agree sometimes the red is too much. I’m sure it could be dialed down a bit more in calibrations. I wonder if the Hisense could be calibrated to look a little less washed out. Also I find the TCL remote is hideous. Hisense remote looks better. My real concern is which is better for lower content. I do enjoy Pluto classic tv from time to time.
Thank you @TechSteve. Can the U7N be calibrated to look less washed out? It’s a tough call, since I do prefer the higher contrast and color saturation in dim environments, but in bright environments is a different story.

I am trying to decide between these two TVs and there are a couple of key features that wasn't covered in this video. The 55" and 75" all uses 8 bit panels, but for the 65" models TCL uses a true 10 bit panel vs. Hisense 8 bit panel. For the 75" models, Hisense uses the ADS (IPS variant) panel vs TCL's VA panel. Hisense comes with an ATSC 3.0 tuner vs TCL's ATSC 1.0 tuner. Hisense has WiFi 6 vs WiFi 5 in TCL. Hisense has much less glare reflection over TCL. TCL does have a lot more dimming zones over Hisense.
