Great video! It was concise and informative but still lighthearted and entertaining. I definitely feel like I have a much better understanding of why we have a month long celebration and I’m sure my kids will too!

Nice to know why it starts and ends when it does and not have to just go with “Puerto Rican time.”

Hello, very good video. I just want to clarify that the Banda Oriental del Uruguay was part of the Spanish kingdoms, not the Portuguese crown. Only Brazil belonged to Portugal.

Thank you very much for your message. Your clarification note is greatly appreciated. Our comment is based on the historical records of competing claims over the region, first between Portugal and Spain and later between Argentina and Brazil, before its independence between 1811 and 1828. Thank you for your support!

BIG ERROR!!! Cuba is NOT part of the USA! Probably you mean to highlight that Puerto Rico, is part of the US since it is a commonwealth of the United States!

Hello @CathiaSantiago. Thank you very much for taking the time to watch the documentary and for sharing your comment. The part to which you refer at minute marker 3:22 states that, “Cuba declared its independence from Spain on October 10th, 1868; and became a U.S. territory until May 20th, 1902.” In other words, Cuba was indeed a U.S. territory, because the United States did not recognize their new government. Cuba was then occupied by the United States but that changed on May 20th, 1902, when Cuba gained their formal independence as the Republic of Cuba, after the Spanish-American War, when Spain ceded Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and Guam to the United States. Thank you very much for your support. Keep watching and sending your comments!
