Disappointment is an understatement IMHO when you shell out a fair chunk of money for something that makes your build that much more complicated, on the other hand it does make for excellent internet content, looking forward to it Jamie

Hi Jamie! Some thoughts during I watched the video: 1 - The second guys you bought conversion set from were right choosing Tamiya kit over Eduard cause Tamiya has the most shape and size accurate kit of Bf. 109G-6 from the modern new tooled ones. 2 - Buchons (reads as Bukhon in Spanish) had 2 types of engines: the early ones (K. 1L) had Hispano Swise 14RDY and the late ones had Merlin-XX. 3 - That light green-gray color for overall painting is nothing else like RLM-02, just like on S-199. 4 - Rockets from the first set seem right in size, those were not HVAR as on US planes but Hispano Swise made in Switzerland, you an find more info and photos of them from Swiss Mustangs website

1. This is not the G-6, but I prefer the Eduard kit owing the the detail and rivets. 2. Hispano Suiza 3. The S-199 is a light green but in the desert is faded rapidly to a brown tone. 4. Having measured them they are slightly too small but on their own mounted to the model they would look ok.

After watching Mr Flory with the Halifax now you and Hispano (and the forthcoming spitfire conversion) I am looking forward to seeing some serious modelling ( way above my pay grade) BUT hoping to pick up some hints & tips!

I'm doing the Kinetic Sea Harrier, more serious modelling required!

@@thescalemodellingcafe I know ! - I am hoping to pick up some tips as I have heard bad things about it which are putting me off BUT a neighbours Uni friend flew them "Down South" and is asking for guidance

A new variant to me with an Hispano Suiza engine, apparently, but results in a much more elegant aeroplane than the Merlin version which pretty much buggers up the lines (IMHO) 😀. Looking forward to this build, Jamie,

Like the video. I am really wanting to do the 1/48 scale.

This is 1:48!

opposite to your disappointment, I'm looking at the contents of a Meng 1/72nd Harkonnen ornithopter and being rather impressed, the only thing wrong is it should be 1/48th. really well moulded and appears to mostly be a push fit deal like the didi ones they did...

I fancy that but there's so many other projects in the pipeline!

@@TheEdmond30 In 1/72 it has a wingspan of 720mm. In 1/48 it would be over a metre. You must have big shelves!

@@johnkelly2098 sadly its shelving would be as practical as a big helo, but mine is big on ambition short on shelves. Its a gods own calibre thing that scales with 28 mm lead soldiers. but practicality shouldn't get in the way of cool... even if id need to conclusively re shelf the cave
