He has his own shelters, I'm pretty sure he already knows varmints carry disease and bacteria in their spit or claws. I used to play with dogs a lot... and they were always super excited whenever they saw me... they would always try to jump on me and would end up scratching up my arms... other times, they would hold my hands in their teeth and refuse to let me go... I was so lucky with my 2nd cat. He was afraid of me at 1st. He came out of hiding and started to cuddled with me. He was a very sweet and friendly stray cat. I was the 1st person that he trusted. He was sweet and friendly towards my sister and parents,too. I was 11 years old back in late September 1981. I even gave him a name when he was a stray which was Roughneck but, my mother shortened towards Ruffy for being a big sweetie. He was adopted in mid November 1981. He went to the vet to get cleaned up, shots, and even fixed. He turned out to be a wonderful cat and was my best friend for a little bit over 12 years. I was the only person to give him belly rubs on my belly. He did stayed on me for over a hour or more in that position. He was liked in having a dog around. I do missed him. He was very special cat.

It is indeed...I have 2 feral kitties of my own that I adopted as babies. I wasn't able to hold them as they grew up, but I did let them walk all over me if I stayed still as they played together. Now that they're grown, I can hold one of them for a very short period of time and the other will only let me "hold" her if we're cuddling in bed. I still cannot pick her up like a regular domestic cat. Still, both of my fur-babies convey their love to me in their own way and it's HUGE and WONDERFUL!!! I took in a feral cat 11 years ago, after seeing him eat stale bread off the old picnic table in our back yard. Long story short, it took 6 months to get him acclimated to me and the house, but he was the best, most affectionate cat ever, rubbing up against me whenever he saw me. Passed away in December from heart failure. Had him cremated, and he still sits with me next to my recliner. He was my little boy... RIP, Lanky

It wasn't hissing out of viciousness, it was afraid, and not sure if it could trust the man, but i think it realized that the man helped it by removing the can and taking it to his (relatively) warm car, he also gave it a chance to leave which I believe showed the cat the man wasn't trying to Hurt it but help it. so it chose the kind man over the wilderness . . . probably because it was a pet once before and knew that kind people = safety, warmth and food

well, cat bites untreated can be rather bad. Not rabies or anything like that, but they are like needles that push bacteria and dirt into the wound and since the teeth are so narrow your skin will close over it and prevent you from being to clean it out. gotta scrub and reopen that wound and clean with antibacterial soap and hydrogen peroxide/alcohol so it doesn't become infected. other than that, cat bits and scratches are not bad.
