Oh, it depends. He could have lived near schools. Romanian feral cats are skittish, but will tolerate some pets, if they are busy eating. The ones near schools? They jump on you for pets. Children love animals.

After seeing this video years ago, I decided that, when I was able to, I would rescue a cat rather than buy from a breeder. A week ago today, I brought home a snugly shoulder kitten. I just got back from his first official vet visit and thought I should let you know that your videos have a positive effect on people from half a world away (I live in Asia). Keep up the good work and best of luck with your new clinic!

Right now I have 8, at one time we had 14. Everybody fixed. I live on social security and don't have much, but we manage. I live in a Mobil home park where people move out and just leave their cats, they show up on my porch starved and hurt. I take care of them and use some of my grocery money to feed them well. And they are not going anywhere, they will always have a home with me.

Hey, same! Guy from India, here. I used to feed and be friendly with a stray mommy. About a year ago, she had 3 kittens. I wanted to bring them inside and do something for them, but my living situation was unsteady. Within a month, I'm not sure what happened, but two of the kittens stopped coming to see me when I came to our usual feeding zone. That was it. I took a plunge and bought them inside. Had some ups and downs with my living situation, but we're now happy together!

We're you able to spay te mom and remaining kitten? I hope you have a secure home now. I almost lost my cat a year ago after I lost my apartment suddenly and had no prospect. We even slept in a tent for a couple of nights. He was so miserable and confused... I'm so glad a family member was able and willing to bail us out.

@@ME.S.E you do realize that cats are effectively still wild animals for the most part. Yes a cat raised in doors is a glorified kitten, but cats with a bit more freedom, can adapt quickly to feral life and the next generation may as well wild animals. Not to mention the entire islands taken over by feral domestic cats. The only way you could argue all feral cats are dirty and sick is by saying all wild animals are dirty and sick. Admittedly it depends on your dirt and sick thresholds and what streets you refer to. Basically what do you define as dirty and sick?

@@willowarkan2263 Even feral cats need care. They don't need to live in houses, but they need food, and to be spayed or neutered and they need their shots. They are not adapted to live as wild animals. They just aren't socialized to accept being touched by humans.

I get SO ANXIOUS when I watch rescue videos where there are cats who clearly want cuddling but there's like 2 seconds of a vague head pat in the video and then NOTHING. It's like on top of the usual emotional stress of seeing animals who've been through some shit, now there's the added emotional stress of my brain and heart and arms and hands spending the entire video howling WE NEED. TO HUG. THOSE KITTIES!!!! So this video was just utterly, absolutely blissful. Petting, and cuddling, and brushing, and more cuddling, and more petting, and holding, and petting, and loving, and oh my god, the music choice, too. And Teddy, just so OBVIOUSLY and PERFECTLY happy, with his little half closed eyes and his sweet little biscuit making... this is a perfect, perfect rescue video.

I just rescued a male adolescent cat 3 days ago. I was out in my garden and he came out of nowhere crying and begging for help. I gave him a bath and took him to the vet the next day. He is currently quarantine due to very contagious parasites. I have two cats already. This poor cat kept thanking me constantly. Every time he would go to eat food, he would take a minute to stop and come over and at least let me know that he was grateful for my help. We've a long road ahead of us but it really amazes me when these animals show up and actually ask for help. ❤ Thank you for sharing your kindness. There is another cat in my neighborhood that's got to bend over ears like this little guy which is a sign that there's a lot of health issues going on with him and possibly nights. I can't get him to trust me though. I'm picking up a big carrier so I can help more cats in quarantine them until I can find homes for them. My vet has given me discounts because I bring in so many homeless cats. Shout out to Rasnic Animal Clinic in Duffield, Va!😢

We lost our cat girl at 13 years old from stomach cancer just before Christmas. The same day, we adopt a stray young tomcat who was skin and bones, covered in wounds and scars. He was very afraid at the rescue , direct from the streets, in our harsh winter in 🇨🇦, but at home, he became suddenly only cuddles and hugs. He was our Christmas gift, due to the vet bills and he is wonderful! He is amazed to have a toys box and nap with them. He has his leather sofa in my room and he sleeps at night on top of my old disabled guinea pig cage. ( i am bedridden) .They love each other, my piggy helps him each morning to steal the hay from his cage for a quick breakfast! They are hilarious! Often, i awoke with his big butt on my pillow and the rest of the cat on my lap! All people are in love with him, he likes to appear on camera when my daughter is in meetings! This week, he discovered how play with a paper bag, so exciting! Each live we save is worth the price and the efforts.

@@dalejwosk777 Some cats just get lost, though, like Cerys said. My parents had a cat who ran away just over a year ago, right at the start of a horrible Minnesota winter. We looked for months. We knocked on doors, we put up signs, we called anyone who would listen. Yeah he was chipped but I guess that doesn't let you track them? Just know if they turn up dead and found by animal control. He never came back to us. And we have no idea what happened. Could've gotten stuck in someone's garage, could've gotten hit by a car, could've had any number of things happen. Maybe someone took him in. We can only hope. This is why it's important to keep cats indoors in my opinion though. My cat is also a rescue who was found lost and on the street and near death. I'll never risk that happening to her.

We rescued two street cats in the early 90's from 3rd St near Atlantic Ave. Boots, and Orion lived with us, and our dog, Merlin, for many years. We took them to Beaverton, Oregon when I thought I had 6 months to live. When we lost our jobs in the 'dot bomb', we bought an RV, and they traveled across the US with us. Orion, whom I found underneath a sewer vent pipe in a 10 degree windchill night, became attached to my wife for his entire life, while Boots attached himself to me, sleeping next to my pillow and demanding belly rubs every night, which I gave freely. I miss giving Boots those belly rubs, but Boots had urinary tract failure, and we kept him alive for 3 1/2 years with fluids. It was very hard taking him to be put down. He seemed so angry at me for taking him away so soon... Anyway, we have since rescued some others cats, and given them all the love we can muster. Our present cat started life as a stray, and spent 5 years in a shelter before we brought him to his forever home. If I live long enough, when Max passes, another will be rewarded with his place.

I was sad and happy coz now, he has a loving home. He got so much love to give to the rescuerers and his human parents. God bless and long live Teddy. Love & Kisses. Me and my 13 rescued kitties

I adopted a cat like this. He was much older, but such an angel. Unfortunately cats who are going through kidney complications, especially male cats, will pee on the rug when they have flare-ups. A lot of people either aren't able or interested to get them expensive procedures like this done or they just think the cat has behavioral issues, and they wind up dumped

I think he was so easily rescued because he was very tired and sick and had been that way for quite a long time. Getting in a carrier with a can of food it in may have been his last gasp for survival. He looked ready to give up at the start of the video. So happy he has found a home. Even better, a home that came with a big brother cat to play with!!!

I loved the first brushing when he lifted his tail like, "Don't forget this, please!" But, I figured he was used to humans when he allowed you to touch him from the beginning. And when he started grooming himself, a sure sign that he was starting to care again. But, the saddest part for me? He was shown on television, and the original owners never bothered to contact the station to claim him. Tells you just how much THEY cared.

The cat before's head reminded me of my cat who had gone missing for a week and a half, we had thought she died outside (she's a ferrell cat but very sweet) (kinda-) and she's an outside cat so we thought if she did die she would've died on the road... But today we went to my little cousins 7th b-day and my dad sent me something on the way back home with was photos of my cat and I said "im still so sad we can't find her😭" and he said "I took those just now, she's home but lost an easy 5 pounds she's been eating and drinking for almost an hour each" (meaning she has been eating for almost an hour and drinking for almost an hour) I was so happy and as soon as I got home looked for her, and I was so happy to she her and she was so happy to see us (my family)

@@Grumpy_old_Boot he probably did. I adopted a cat found down by the freeway by animal control. He was skinny, full of fleas and filthy. Vet said he was around 10 years old. He is super sweet and affectionate. Likes everyone, had him for 6 years now. Definitely not a feral cat, obviously had a home before me. Probably got lost, and like you, they are wondering what happened to him . But he is here in a great home with a loving family, and very , very happy.

The little guy cleaned up nicely. Thank you for the video. WARNING: TL;DR ahead: I have 2 tomcats, one very old with one eye and a blue-eyed black and white. I fear my other 2 cats were trapped by some neighbors I think are dog lovers and cat haters. I've never understood that mindset. I'm not a dog fan, but that's because I have allergies. I like my neighbors dogs. One of them was the mother to my younger cat and the other missing cat, also a tomcat. They are all chipped. The mother was a half calico and half gray tabby. She only had two litters and I kept one from each. I have half an acre and they control the vermin. When the old guy lost his eye he "retired" from hunting. The calico/tabby was the daughter of a chimera who had one green eye and one blue eye. Her kittens are beautiful. The missing tomcat was my buddy. He played in the water when I ran it for my chickens and jumped in my truck to go for rides. He purred at a touch, including while getting shots. I really miss him. His little brother shrinks away from touch, but is getting better. He'll now purr when I touch him, but still doesn't like being cuddled. I think I'll win though. The old boy is a bit arthritic so no longer jumps in my lap when I sit down. I can tell he doesn't like being picked up anymore either. He purrs so quietly that I have to put my ear on his back or side. He's always drooled when I cuddled him. Silly boy. Keep telling good stories. Cats are amazing. Please don't feed your cats only dry food. They need fresh raw meats. Never feed them grain. That'll make them very fat. Feed them organ meats and, sorry to say, brains and other high fat foods. My cats are outdoor cats and really hate being locked indoors. We show them a lot of affection, as do our visiting grandchildren, who also have pets to cuddle, so know how to be gentle and kind.
