His father’s disease that killed him is thought to be a brain tumor by historians. His sister believed strongly that it was brain damage from a concussion caused by a fall though to the extent that she altered her brothers memoirs that originally said "My beloved father suddenly fell ill in September 1848" replacing it with "In September 1848 my beloved father suddenly became seriously ill as a result of a fall."

Fun fact about Elizabeth Nietzsche She and her husband, Bernhard Forster, moved to Paraguay in 1886 to try and create a model society based on "Aryan superiority" The project was a failure, and Bernhard Forster committed suicide in 1889.
